[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Friday night. Even during the summer it seemed to be like the one time that everyone got together. Sure there were things throughout the week, but Friday was when things really went down. It was getting closer to the end of the summer too so more people were hitting up the Friday party scene. Jaylee hadn’t really gone anywhere over the summer so she was a little sick of the whole party scene. It was always the same thing with the same people. To her she always just ended up sneaking off with Lucas after some argument over something stupid. Tonight was going to be different though. She was going to stay in, order pizza, and watch a movie. It sounded like a great idea to her. That was until she got a text from Kate. Kate was one of her closest girl friends and so when she told her that she was coming to get her for the party whether she liked it or not Jaylee honestly had no choice. She wasn’t going to try real hard though and she vowed to herself that tonight was going to be different. She wasn’t going to end up glued to Lucas in the back of his stupid car. She would maybe have a drink or two, lie to Kate saying she didn’t feel good and then ditch out.
Jaylee rolled off of her bed and looked herself over in the mirror. For spending all day working on her summer reading she actually didn’t look half bad. She did look a little tired and her hair was disheveled, but nothing her favorite beanie and her Ray-Bans couldn’t fix. She slipped on her TOMS, grabbed her Ray-Bans, and shoved her beanie on her head. She could hear Kate honking outside telling her to get in the car. As soon as she got in she realized that she had forgotten her phone, but since she only lived three blocks from where they were going she didn’t see the hassle in going to get it.
There were already tons of people at this party and Jaylee could tell that this was going to be a good one. It could honestly rival the one that started the summer off. They had even gotten the cops called on them for that one. Thankfully Jaylee was long gone by the time the cops showed up. She of course pretended that she was there when asked the next day because God forbid anybody know that she was actually off with the douche king himself. Jaylee got out of the car and slipped into the house, grabbing a red solo cup and sipping it generously. The music filled her ears and she let her head bob to it. Ok maybe she would stay a little longer than she had originally planned.

tonight, is the night, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
alex wasnt really looking forward to tonight. he sighed as he rolled around on his bed. he almost rolled off it when his phone vibrated loudly on his desk. he sighed and read the text, a party? sweet. he didn't know the kid who invited him much, he was only a classmate and probably didn't know alex that much. he had a smile though, he would go of course, you would have to be a party pooper if you didn't. and besides, he wanted to enjoy his summer, and definitely not in his room.
he got on his beanie first, not really thinking of what to wear. he took off his relaxing clothes of long sleeves and some shorts and slid on a plain white tee and some jeans he found lying around, that reminded him he needed to clean his room. he grinned and shook his head 'never in my lifetime.' once he got his vans on he sighed and looked at the clock, his preparation only took a few minutes.
once he got out of his house and into his car to drive to the party, it wasn't that far away so it wasn't much of a hassle or a headache, but the house was unmistakable, as music pumped out of it as well as cars surrounding it. he found a spot and made his way inside. the party had been underway for awhile, but as he looked around he knew he didn't really fit in, so he just walked around and drank a few, not really going overboard or anything, he needed to be able to get back of course.
after awhile, he didn't feel like he belonged, the kids were boring and what seemed like preps, oh how he hated preps. but his mind was thrown around too much as music thumped his head and he tried to hold his ground. once he shook himself out of this wierd trance as he thought about his plans for the future for the moment. a guitar was playing and thats what sparked his thoughts, being drunk you need ties like these mental thoughts to spark such wierd moments. he was looking to start his own little band, but he was just going to keep the idea low for awhile, he didn't want to get too committed too quickly.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Jaylee had a good two or three drinks by this time. She was swaying to the music and had lost Kat about an hour before. She couldn’t really care though because she was having fun. Sure this hadn’t been what her plans were originally, but it ended up being a great idea. This had been the first party she hadn’t even spotted Lucas and she couldn’t have been happier. She really needed to start separating herself from him. Her drunken mind yelled at her a bit to stop thinking of that downer and to pep up. She plastered a smile on her face and nodded in agreeance with her thought. She put her empty red solo cup down and started trying to make her way towards the kitchen to get another.
Jaylee was stumbling, bad. She wasn’t the best drunk and never really had been. She was overly giggly and clingy. And on top of all of that she had problems with her walking. That’s why it wasn’t surprising at all when she felt her body collide with someone else’s. Her hazy brain took a while to register that she even ran into someone, and even more so at whom it was. With a goofy smile she looked up to see the face of the person who she was now clinging to in hopes that she didn’t just fall over in the spinning world. He looked familiar and she knew she knew his name but it wasn’t coming to her. She bit down the inside of her cheek while her mind swam looking for the guy’s name. ‘Alex!’ she said very excitedly at him as soon as she figured out his name. She had never seen him outside of working at the country club and didn’t see him for one to come to this type of party. Even being drunk she could see that he was a little out of place. It didn’t matter though. She figured he was just a local so people were less likely to care if he was there or not. It wasn’t as if she went to school with him and he was in one of the cliques that the preps did everything not to associate with.

alex was looking around, thinking for something to do. he didn't know what he was thinking when he came to this party, thinking he would have fun. he just sighed as he watched the crowd, he was swaying to the music, as his drunk self would. he was trying to fight it, but he couldn't. once he got past the fact he was drunk and at a party he shouldn't be at something happened he couldn't grasp. time slowly faded and he felt a body impact him, but not in a football star way, just a small bump, but he looked down to see this girl, completely wasted, leaning on him. he raised a brow and laughed at her, his mind was thinking on its own. he scoffed and looked down at her as she recognized him. he laughed and nodded, in no condition to talk to her in the right manner right now. he just blurred out "hi." once he got his act together he just blurted out "oh..." he paused "nice to see you here jaylee." his mind spoke, and his lips uncensored. he blinked quickly to regain his blurred vision, those few drinks were doing wonders to him. but once he regained himself he looked around and saw that the crowd remained unchanged for the most part, he was barely paying attention to jaylee, which could spell his own doom. he glanced quickly and nodded to jaylee, just making sure if she said anything he would look like he was listening. but the door opened and his eyes screamed in pain as the lights went on, and he heard noises and was pushed and shoved, but he continued to stare, like a moth to a light. he was then shoved along, but he didn't know by what or who. he just followed the flow, not sure if he was being dragged by somebody into a spot or if the force of the wave of people was pushing him along. words; 454 music; falling down, notes; hurp derp |

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Jaylee’s head was starting to swirl. She really shouldn’t have had that last drink. What happened to two drinks and then ditching out? She couldn’t even remember what had inspired her to stay. Maybe it was the fact that for once Lucas wasn’t at the party so she could actually branch out and talk to others. She had been catching up with people who had just returned from their vacations and just having a good time. Of course she loved the fact that at that very moment she was attached to Alex. It wasn’t as if she had said anything more than hi or asked for a raspberry lemonade before from him, but she always admired him from afar. She had always been attracted to him even though she was probably not his type at all. This was a party though and she was pretty sure that he was as drunk as her so what was the harm in some harmless flirting.
Before she knew it the door was open, there was a bright light, and people were running in every direction. Jaylee knew what this meant. Cops. Jaylee had been to enough parties that were busted by the cops that even in her drunken stupor she knew what to do. Without really thinking she grabbed Alex’s hand and pushed her way through the crowd. They had to get away from the big mass of people because that’s who the cops usually went after. Going upstairs wasn’t an option either because they always checked there. Jaylee didn’t know about Alex but she was definitely underage so if she was caught she was in huge trouble. There was one place that Jaylee knew the cops rarely checked and that most people were too drunk to remember it even existed. The guest house.
Jaylee was not quite running, because that would have been dangerous, but she was walking as fast as her drunken short legs would take her towards the far off guest house. They were lucky that this one was kind of tucked away because that made it less likely for the cops to check it. Jaylee jiggled the door handle and gave a sigh of relief when the door was unlocked. She pulled Alex in after her and closed the door. ‘We should be safe-ish in here.’ A goofy smile was back on Jaylee’s face as she flopped down on the ground. ‘So what brought you to this party?’ Jaylee was so unaware of Alex’s current social standing and in her state she couldn’t really care. In her mind he was the nice local boy who worked at the bar area at the country club. He had to be a local, it wasn’t like she had ever seen him at school.

as alex moved with the crowd, he looked down stupidly to see his hand being gripped by some one, some body. he wondered who, but he was too dumb to realize that he probably was jaylee, he didn't know anyone else that would do that to him, out of the blue or out of desperation. his feelings and senses were numbed by the substances in the red cups, but he felt her soft hands, but it was a weak feeling that he couldn't grasp or remember. once the crowd faded and them two drifted into a guest house he just raised a brow and followed suit.
once inside he smiled to her, wondering what she was going to do, his drunk mind had plans, but this recent twist sobered him up quite a bit as adrenaline pumped through, slightly. when she spoke again all he could do was nod and have a small, stupid grin on his face, but his mind was slowly recovering and it would be back to work soon. but she didn't give him or his brain that much time to relax, she fired a question, probably out of boredom, so he might as well reply and get them in a conversation so they don't die of boredom. when he thought of the question and its answer he just sat down next to her and slurred out "oh i was invited..." he laughed "by a friend from school." he paused and grinned out "and you?"
he looked at her, she was probably going to say the same thing, but his next question would be what school she went to, because it could be his luck that she went to the same school as him, or his downfall, but either way, it would be known, or figured out at this party, where she went.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] The floor was soft, at least to Jay’s drunken mind it was. She rolled over onto her stomach so that she could look up at Alex. She knew that he was taller than her but as she lay there looking up at him he looked a lot taller. She flipped over once more and rested her head on Alex’s thigh. On any normal circumstances she wouldn’t just put her head on a guy’s lap who she hadn’t ever really had a real conversation, but the alcohol was pumping through her system and deciding a lot of her actions. She still had some control, she knew well enough to keep her clothes on, but she just wanted to be cuddley. That’s how she got when she was drunk, so sue her.
Jaylee nodded a little to his answer. She wondered if he had just graduated so he still knew people around. Or who knew maybe there were other college kids there. Not like that was an unusual thing around these kinds of parties. Jay didn’t know why she always assumed that he was a local or went to college around here. It probably went with the whole thing of her never seeing him around Manchester Prep before. Even if they weren’t in the same grade she would have seen him, right? She wasn’t that oblivious to the people who were in her surroundings, was she?
‘My friend Kate told me I had to come. I was going to boycott the whole party scene tonight, but obviously that failed.’ Jay would have shrugged, but it was difficult to shrug when laying down, especially with her head in someone’s lap. Jay wondered what friend invited him. That might tell her a bit about him ‘Who invited you?’ Not like she would really remember next time she saw him. But hey at least she would hopefully remember that she at least said more than five words to him.

alex smiled as she rested near him, something was wrong, something didn't feel right. it was probably the alcohol playing with his mind, if not that he was just being mental. he just smiled to her, wondering if she noticed it, he had a genuine smile on his face, this was a fun time, but probably the drinks had made his facial expressions less likely to notice. that was when something weird happened, something he didn't expect, even drunk.
jaylee moved herself to his thigh, and rested on it like a small child would with a pillow animal or whatever those things on tv were called. he just looked down and stared into her glazed over eyes, he knew she was completely out of her mind, but he was sobering up slowly, he didn't know how but he was. it was maybe the adrenaline, or the weird tingling feelings in his stomach and forehead, and even his heart. he brushed off his bodys reactions to a girl on his lap and continued to look, his beanie shifting slight downward as his hair hanged, he almost lost his beanie due to gravity, but he hanged onto his head like a mussel to a ship. all he could do was raise a brow and chuckle slightly at her story.
but once her question came he nodded, it was only fair that he would give his story as well, so he did "oh a friend of mine told me this would be a decent party." he grinned as he looked to the window, itself reflecting the red and blue lights "apparently not." he laughed softly as he dragged his eyes back to her, and he shifted slightly to get more comfortable.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Jaylee honestly was in a drunken bliss. There was a stupid smile plastered on her face that she wouldn’t be able to take away if she tried. Plus, Alex’s thigh was comfy to rest her heavy head on. She knew her eyes felt a little heavy, but she wasn’t going to let herself fall asleep. Even drunk she knew that wasn’t a great idea. If the cops ended up busting into their little hide out while she was asleep and he was drunk well that wouldn’t turn out good. Although it probably wouldn’t turn out well if they were both awake and drunk either. Jay was underage so if she got caught she was in huge trouble. There went her trust fund and her entrance into Harvard. She figured that Alex was of age, or at least closer to it, so he would get in trouble for supplying alcohol to a minor which would suck even more than getting charged for underage drinking.
‘It was a great party. That’s why the cops got called obviously.’ Jaylee had been to quite a few parties and she knew that a lot of people judged how epic it was by how fast the cops were called if there were. Guess that was the way rich kids were. She knew that the cops got paid off a lot by the host of the party since a lot of them were somehow tied to the parents of the kid throwing the party. Jaylee had never thrown one of massive prep parties that she always attended, nor did she really ever have any desire. Sure she attended basically all of them, but if she got caught there was no way Harvard would ever let her in. All of her actions were based on what Harvard would think about it and throwing a huge party when her parents were gone on the many weekends that they were did not scream pick me Harvard.
Slowly, Jaylee sat up. She leaned her head now on Alex’s shoulder and looked up at him. Her alcohol soaked brain was now truly calling the actions. Whatever she did and said was now the creature that was inside her and not how Jay would act on any normal circumstances. ‘Alex, you’re hot. That’s why I sit at the bar to do my homework so that I can watch you.’ If Jaylee had been sober at that point she would have died. No, actually she would have never said it. She would have kept her mouth shut and her distance. Instead she was wrapping her arms around his and snuggling close to him. Stupid drunk girl.

alex's mind was about to be completely turned upside down, he didn't know why, but he felt as though jaylee was planning something, with that drunk and twisted mind of hers. he could only laugh at what she was planning to do with him, he had the upper hand if anything happened. that was when the situation was out of his control, the next words that jaylee said completely caught him off guard, but he knew that she was drunk, and she didn't mean it.
all he could return was a curious "really?" he grinned out, but his mind also was playing its tricks "i never thought about it that way." at least it wasn't as bad as hers, but he was flirting a bit too much, or what he seemed was flirting, but the next slur of words came out unexpectedly "well i think your pretty to." he looked into her eyes again, wondering how she would react, but knowing she was drunk he knew nothing really expected would, keep on your toes buddy.
but he wrapped his arms around jaylee, maybe the warmth would sober her up, or make her fall asleep, because his eyes were thinking the later. he blinked heavily and looked outside again, the lights were still there, but he was sure that they were safe, besides if the door did open, they weren't in plain sight, all he could do is sit and wait.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] If Jaylee could see herself right now she would be face-palming. She was all over a guy she had barely said two words to really. Ok so she had said more than two words to him before, but still. She nuzzled her head into his shoulder letting a smile cross her face. Her drunk mind had to admit that this did feel nice. It was different than what she usually did. It was a good different though. Jay loved cuddling and she was pretty sure the love intensified a lot whenever she was drunk. Jaylee loved the warmth that seemed to be radiating right off of Alex onto her. She honestly couldn’t remember the last time she had actually just cuddled with someone without it becoming more. Not like she was likely to remember this experience either, but hey at least it was something different.
‘Of course really. I wouldn’t lie.’ As much as Jay lied when she was sober, her lies tended to fall right apart whenever too much alcohol got in here. So whatever she was saying were probably things that she had been thinking that she either a) lied about or b) pretended they didn’t exist. She bit her bottom lip a little trying to keep her drunken smile still in place. She almost shot up when she head Alex say that she thought she was pretty. ‘Really Alex? Like I always just thought you were out of my league and now to find out that you think I’m pretty and just…ya’ Drunken babbling. Gotta love it. Jay was practically beaming at this new found information. Without thinking she leaned in and kissed his cheek. She immediately placed her head back in his shoulder. She cuddled a bit closer with a happy smile on her face. Drunken bliss.
Jay could feel the heaviness of her eyes start to set in again. She let her eyes close for a split second but then tried to force them open. She couldn’t just let herself fall asleep because then she would wake up all kinds of confused the next day. ‘Alex will you stay with me tonight to make sure I get home? Or at least don’t go to jail.’ Jay knew by the way she was feeling she probably would end up falling asleep, but at least if she had Alex there to protect her she figured she would be ok. alex smiled, he didn't know why he did. it was probably the alcohol or something. he wouldn't question his resolve right now, he had to keep his head together and not fall for his brains desires. he smiled to her as he did to him, and once she spoke about him being out of his league all he could do was smile back at her, he was actually below her in the clique status. but all he could do is just smile lazily back, he noticed her sleepy state and it was infecting him.
he could only smile as she requested him to stay, it was the least he could do. "sure." he whispered out as she battered her heavy eyes, he blinked as well, and once he did, he grinned as he was losing his state to his brain shutting down. "ill stay here and watch for you." he repeated his minds thoughts, making sure she would understand him. he sighed and looked away from her for a moment, trying to make it so it wasn't as pressuring for her to fall asleep, but his warmth would probably be enough for her mind to shut down and rest.
he looked back down to make sure she was asleep. he also did it out of pure impulse and wonder.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Jay could feel the heat from her body radiating off of her and leaving her for good. As this happened she snuggled closer to Alex. The heat that came from his body soaked into her own body and she loved it. He reminded her of some big warm teddy bear and she liked it a lot. Her eyes were struggling to stay open, but she didn’t really want to fall asleep. She wanted to continue talking with him and just well, being there. Her drunken thoughts floated around in her mind telling her that maybe she liked this boy. Other thoughts quickly shooed that one thought away. He was the guy who worked at the country club. He was just the guy that she enjoyed making him get her raspberry lemonades so she had an excuse to talk to him. No this boy would never be anything more than a fascination.
Her grin widened as he agreed to stay with her. ‘Thanks Alex. You’re the best.’ A yawn escaped her lips and she stretched her legs. She wanted to continue cuddling up with Alex, but at the same time her tired body was begging her to lay down. Without really letting herself think about it she started to lay down, dragging Alex down with her. She snuggled closer to him, pulling his arms around her body. ‘Alex you’re the best.’ Another yawn escaped her lips and her eyes finally shut. She didn’t exactly fall asleep right off the bat. She just listened the silence of her breathing syncing up with Alex’s. She smiled to herself knowing that even if she didn’t remember this in the morning she would at least wake up in the arms of someone who she thought was cool and sweet and well a lot of other things.
