when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
logeun walked slowly in the park, such a nice day, a bit cloudy, but it was always like that here. he smiled to himself as he thought of why he was here. he had invited kate to enjoy a lunch with him in the park, the days of school closing in, in fact, in two days his schedule and hers would come, and now if he didn't have a class with her he would be devastated, but nothing some complaining in the office wouldn't fix. kate meant everything to him now, even if he had to fight for her, he would.
he found a spot, shaded by rather large tree nearby, but he wasn't completely under it. he set down his rather corny looking picnic basket, inside of it was a few sandwiches he made, as well some of jams and other foods, fruits and just necessary stuff needed for something like this. he had almost forgot about the blanket, fumbling to open it. once he did the wind gusted against him, pushing the plaid sheet against him, causing to fumble like an idiot until he got situated, once he got it on the ground he quickly sat on it, laying the basket on the sheet so it wouldn't blow away, that recent gust was just one of many he was used to, such a windy state maryland is.
once he got himself all set up and ready he could only look around, the park was slightly empty, only a few faces, none he knew though. as he waited patiently for kate, legs out stretched on the blanket. he smiled as he pulled out his phone, laying it on the sheet, he wasn't as addicted to his phone and electronics as some of his friends were, he didn't actually know why. but he heard some footsteps near him, getting closer and all he could do was smile as he turned his head to the voice,
"hey there."

How fantastic!
This was the type of date that she could really enjoy. Kate, like anyone, liked fancy dinners and getting dressed up but this was nice. She'd never really had a picnic before. She'd been camping with her family and they ate out sometimes but that wasn't romantic, ants in your sandwich was not romantic. And there weren't any parents this time so that meant she could kiss Logeun as much as she wanted.
Ever polite, she wanted to bring something with her as she thought leaving him to do all of the hard work was totally unfair. As a result, she'd brought along a few small things as a small token of her thanks; a small punnet of strawberries, a bottle of elderflower cordial (home made by herself, of course), a bag of chocolate chip cookies and a small loaf of sundried tomato bread. Everything in her bag she'd made herself and since learning he wanted to take her out again, Kate was decided on dazzling him with her domestic goddess qualities.
The weather was grey and as she walked, she chanced a quick look up at the sky. She hoped it didn't rain but if it did, it did. C'est la vie or…something. It was tricky to think of what to wear to a picnic-date. She toyed with the idea of maybe wearing jeans and a nice top but because school was starting up again soon, she wanted to make the most of her beach tan before her hideous uniform ruined it. As a result, she'd opted for a pretty little dress which she paired with a pair of light brown ankle boots, the heels of which clacked against the floor merrily as she sped up. Her hair was back to its naturally curly state and kept in place with a floral hair bow underneath her brown fedora.
Kate could see him a little away from her, battling with a picnic blanket. A picnic blanket! Oh gosh, was he the cutest or what? Her pretty face lit up and she could only see the back of him. The spot he'd picked out was nice; open and bright, not totally deserted but out of the way enough that she figured they wouldn't be disturbed.
Did Logeun camp out often? The thought suddenly struck her. He said he'd been a boy scout when he was younger so he must have some basic clues of what he was doing and if they ever got attacked by a bear then she'd feel a heck of a lot safer.
Bang on time, Kate broke into a gentle jog, the size of her heels not bothering her at all. The wind blew at her skirt, making her look like that classic image of Marilyn Monroe on that steam grate but did she care? Nuh-uh. Slowing her pace, she took a minute or two to smooth down the skirt of her dress, fixing her hair and making herself look presentable before he greeted her. "Hi cutie," she said with a grin, shifting her bag which felt like it was getting heavier and heavier as the strap cut into her shoulders. Ouch. Shooting the sky one more dubious glance, she stepped around his sitting figure before following suit and sitting down opposite him, folding her impossibly long legs underneath her.
Taking off her bag, she set about opening it and setting out the items she'd brought with her. It wasn't a lot but she hoped he'd appreciate all the baking and love she'd put into the treats. Unbuttoning her thin cardigan, she slid it off her slender shoulders before tossing it aside carelessly, looking up again with another smile. It suddenly occurred to her that she liked lunch dates. Realising she hadn't really said anything, she shook her head. "I made some bread," she said, pointing to the small loaf that had been delicately wrapped in brown paper and tied with baker's twine.
She chewed on her lip, almost hoping to earn his approval. If not, he could take it home to his mother. Oh yeah! That might win her some extra best-girlfriend-ever points! Realising how daft she sounded, she simply snorted with laughter like it was some kind of private joke. "Thanks for inviting me out again," she said shyly, politely folding her pale hands in her lap. "And this…" trailing off, she flashed him a grin. "Is gorgeous. Oh!" Kate exclaimed, eyes wide as a sudden gust of wind from behind her knocked her hat clean off her head which caused her give a loud and genuine laugh, hands going to her hair. Little things like that, the unpredictable weather, made this dates so awesome. when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
smiled at the voice of the person behind him, he eased a bit and looked quickly to the time, promptly right on time. he could only smile as he was called cute, did she really mean that? he could only think she did. but that was besides the point, she looked stunning as usual. he could only smile and wonder what was in her bag as she sat down. he had brought enough food, but she seemed to have brought some, and it was reassuring that she could do it, if the time arose. he smiled at the thought of her in a kitchen.
once she brought out her stash to share he immediately saw her as a baker. the bread she made was interesting, he'd never seen a homemade one before. he would have a slice or two from it, and save the rest for his mother and father, besides they were wondering if she could cook. such a stereotype, but it would have to do if he wanted his mother to keep liking his girl.
"cool, cant wait to try it!" he said with some excitement, it was always good to try new things.
when she thanked him for no apparent reason, all he could do was return the favor "thank you for coming love." she was still a bit too far for a kiss, maybe after they eat, maybe.
but he couldn't help but laugh as the wind picked up and the hat flew a small distance. he smiled and stood up, quickly running after it and finally dove for it, sliding in the grass to grab a hold of the hat. once he returned he scoffed and laughed again, breathing inbetween laughs "i got it." once he laid it down beside her, he sat a bit closer to her, to her side really, and he opened the basket taking out some jam and a knife "shall we dig in?"
as he asked the question he popped open the can of jam, the distinct freshness pop always gave him the smile.

She also thought of him as ridiculously good looking and sexy but she figured that would be a teeny bit inappropriate to say so. Cute was a safe word, even though he was so much more. She was facing an awkward moment potentially. She wanted to tell her boyfriend that she thought he was sexy as Hell, all temptingly stretched out on a picnic blanket and the shirt he was wearing had tightened around his defined biceps. Oh God, she really needed to stop before she turned into a nymphomaniac.
As he said he couldn't wait to try her head, she let a grin soften her face. He was so sweet, willing to try what she'd made when she was sure he knew she wasn't a terribly good cook. She wasn't being modest, she really wasn't. The only thing she could really make was bread and lots of it.
"It's Mediterranean bread," Kate said, flushing pink. She hated talking about herself. "It's got sundried tomatoes, roasted red peppers and chopped green olives," she explained as her pale fingers deftly unwrapped her the brown paper to reveal a small, rather squat looking loaf. The reason she'd chosen that was because it didn't need any preserves like jam or butter and could be eaten how it was, she figured it would be a lot easier. It was actually pretty good with soup. She hadn't asked Logeun if he liked Italian food because that was pretty much what it was. Kate loved Italian food. Literally, she couldn't get enough of tomatoes and pasta and olive oil and ridiculously tasty bread.
He'd called her love. The simple word made her insides squirm pleasurably. That word was very rarely used around her and from what she knew, it was meant to be a term of endearment and she truly hoped he'd call her that again. Positively flushing with pleasure, she let out a cute little giggle, dropping her head and turning it away from him to let long curls over her blush.
The last thing she expected when she lost her hat was for her boyfriend to get up and chase it. Boyfriend. It sounded nice. Watching with wide-eyes, she couldn't help but laugh. Correspondingly, she shifted her position so she was nearly on the picnic blanket as opposed to sitting on it, straining to watch him run after her hat. Man, everything he was doing lately was making her purr like a kitten.
"Safe!" Kate yelled, throwing her hands above her head in a triumphant manner, watching him slide in the grass as she made a baseball joke. Watching him return, she smiled at him again. She felt at ease now. She was so deadest on impressing him when really, she should just be herself. If he didn't like that side of her then he would just have to leave. "My hero!" She cheered, clapping her hands in a loud round of applause, still laughing, finding the whole thing hilarious and oddly romantic. He was so charming.
As per tradition when a gentleman performs such a chivalrous deed, he was rewarded. Not wanting to let that slide, once he sat down, she leant in and pressed her lips lightly to one of his cheeks. Pulling back, she took her hat and buried it under her cardigan for safe keeping. She was trying oh-so hard to be good and fight her carnal desires but for crying out loud, he really was not making things easily.
As he asked if they should eat, she nodded eagerly, her eyes already drinking in all of the goodness around him. "Oh yum," she gushed. Some girls made goo-goo eyes at expensive clothes but Kate had a major jones for food. If it wasn't for all the tennis, she'd look like a beached whale. Without waiting for permission and she probably should have, she leant over and across him to rifle through the picnic basket. It probably wasn't the best idea. As she leant over him, her backside was up in the air but food was on her mind and she forgot to act politely. Thank goodness his parents weren't there.
Finding some sandwiches, she sat back down close to him. Reaching for her bag, she extracted the bottle and two plastic glasses and set about pouring them both a glass of the lemon coloured liquid. Shoot, she didn't have any ice. Meh. With a smile, she held a small glass to him, hoping he'd both like the taste and appreciate the fact that it had taken forever to squeeze enough flowers to get enough. The darkening sky didn't dampen her good mood. Noticing the jam, it piqued her interest as she fished out a strawberry, taking a little nibble. Unawares, a bit of strawberry juice trickled its way down her long forearm. "What jam is it?" She asked softly, still chowing down on her strawberry. "I have a really bad sweet tooth." .
when she explained the misterious loaf he could only smile and nod as he learned a new thing today. "cant wait to try it." he said with a small smile and wink. he liked to try new things, it kept life interesting, and in no doubt, was kate boring in his book. she always brought something unexpected and kept him on his toes, and that's what makes life interesting and fun. a brief silence and then a giggle as she turned away, was he really that cute?
he let out a smile but his face turned grave at the hat flying away. he ran for it as he could, sliding and almost standing his shirt, thank god the grass wasn't wet. he heard he call out a word, safe. he smiled and thought for a moment, oh baseball. he grinned and laughed all the way back to the place where they sat. and when he took up residence near her, she kissed his cheek, a hero's welcome. he could only smile at her absolute bubbly nature, it was too much for him to resist. or his brain rather. he felt different now, that his life has been pulled out of the self harassment and into the blue. and all thanks to kate for making him believe that he was amazing just the way he was.
she was excited about eating, that was different, he was used to the girls being excited in going out or shopping, so generic and stereotypical, but it was true. she on the other hand was different, she wanted to eat like most teenage boys, yet she still had the curves of a racetrack. he smiled at the thought of his analogy.
the whole fact that she was right on top of him for a brief moment like this was just a bit of a sneak peek of a future event. he grinned at the thought, but he didn't mind as she poured him a drink and he tried it, quite liking it "this is really good!" he paused as he looked at her bottle, noticing no label "you made it yourself?" he said with a smile as he looked to the sandwiches, grabbing on and sinking his teeth into it.
he smiled and watched her try his mothers jam, she had made it from the raspberries in the backyard, and he had helped her as she wasn't much into the whole physical part of the process, he wondered why. she had been a bit peculiar lately, eating more and actually resting every now and then, it was probably just a phase or something. he just remembered to say "raspberry, homemade." he said with a smile as he took a strawberry for himself and dipped it in the jam, popping it into his mouth.
he then focused on his sandwich, finishing it and then opening the loaf of bread, he examined it for a quick moment, and the grabbed a plastic knife and sliced it open. its sweet aroma filled the vicinity. his mouth watered as he took the slice and spread some of the other jam over it, and he took a bite.
"wow..." he said as he had the chance to speak. "its really, really good." he grinned and finished the slice, he then looked to a strawberry and decided to do what they did in the movies. he then took a strawberry and held it out like a mother would to an infant.
"let me feed you" he said in a soft, cooing voice.

Logeun had the three S's; smart, sensitive and sexy. Oh-so sexy. Previously, Kate had a pretty good grip on her hormones but ever since that kiss on the beach, her hormones were skittering all over the place. It was causing her physical pain not to be on top of him, it was horrible enough not being close enough to tough but no. If the time arose, then she'd deal with it then. She wasn't going to force his hand even though every single fibre of her being was screaming out for it.
His smile was making her thing bad things. Naughty things and she needed to stop. Right now. Falling silent, her bright green eyes scanned the surrounding area. A few walkers passed by, the occasional hiker and she chewed on her lip. Was she seriously debating on seducing him in a park?
Okay so maybe she was using those elusive feminine wiles.
Sprawled across his lap, she had honestly been looking through the picnic hamper, that was all. The flimsy material of her skirt blew in the wind, absently to and fro. She reached out a hand to grab something from the basket and as she did so, her lithe body extended, her skirt hitching a little further up a pair of tennis toned thighs. Kate was a little bit dippy, she hadn't noticed him looking because if she had, she probably would have backed off. She was a lot of things but she wasn't a slut. Flirty, maybe. Here's hoping Logeun didn't mind his personal space being invaded in such a manner.
Watching him eat wasn't helping much. She was nervous, what if he didn't like it? What if she'd added a bit too much salt or it turned out that he hated olives? Her pretty smile was concealed behind the rim of her plastic glass. "Really?" She asked, her big eyes sparkling, unable to help radiate joy. To Kate, she took pleasure in seeing people eat her food and enjoy it. Blushing faintly, she nodded. "It's nothing really," she said softly, feeling embarrassed. Pfft, sure. The steps were tough going. She had to collect the heads of the elderflower, boil some water in a pan with sugar to make a syrup, add lemons, cover it up to infuse overnight. Then she had to strain it, dilute it and bottle it up.
"My mum taught me," she said with a gentle smile. "She said it always good to make your own things," shrugging, she took a sandwich and took a little nibble out of it, looking like a bunny. Her mum was very much a make-do-and-mend kind of woman and Kate had followed suit. She took her time eating her small sandwich, not that hungry because her stomach was tied up in knots due to his presence but she perked up. Chewing the crusts (the best part of bread), she grinned.
Unlike Logeun, she didn't bother dipping anything into the jam. She found a spoon and went straight ahead and dunked it in and trying a spoonful. "ohmigod," Kate said, eyes closing as she let out a moan. She'd always preferred good food to sex and the noise she made probably showed it. "This is so good," she gushed, eyes wide with wonder as she went in for another spoonful. She really shouldn't. Too much sugar made Kate even more exuberant. "If I ask really nicely, do you think she'll let me have a jar?" The blonde asked with a soft grin.
Oh thank God, he liked it. She watched him intently, trying to gauge his reaction to her food. But she blinked at his next offer. Feed her? Suddenly, she was bombarded with images of whipped cream and chocolate sauce and she needed to chill the Hell out.
Kate wasn't sure if he was serious as he held out the strawberry and all she could do was chuckle. Seriously? She could get on board with that, yeah. She brushed back a lock of long blonde hair behind her ear, placing two delicate hands on the blanket in front of her so they'd take her weight. Leaning forward and towards Logeun, she took a bite of the strawberry and ignored the urge to pin him to the blanket. "Yum," she said with a laugh, chewing quickly and wiping a dot of juice from her lower lip.
The fruit tasted better this way and she wished she had some Nutella but that would probably count as foreplay. Offering him a grin, it was so unexpected. Should she offer to feed him too? It was probably cuter if she just let him do it. She didn't have anything romantic to feed him. She had a cookie? She didn't know, she just felt awkward doing it so she left it to him. She hadn't realised that she was still leaning across and close to him. although she was literally on top of him he held back his urges. man was simple, easy to understand. if he was going to give into temptation he would fall for his animalistic urges to just tackle her and take the opportunity. but no, he was better than that, only when she made the move would be when he would answer back. sure her skirt was teasing him, whispering in the wind to taunt him, but he ignored the urge to stare. he could only smile and nod as she questioned him, she always wanted to make sure. and he always told the truth, honest abe. he really liked the taste, one of a kind, and probably not the easiest to make. he could only brush away the fact that she was denying the trouble it was to make something so good.
he could only smile, it was so stupid to say that, but it's the truth. logeun listened and nodded to her mothers theory. she was right, you should be independent on yourself to make what you need. he had nothing to say, because if he did it could be taken the wrong way. he just stayed silent and watched her sample the jam rather, quickly.
he laughed softly as she moaned with pleasure, hopefully not the only moan he'll hear. wow bro, no... just... no... he grinned at the mention to her being nice to her mother for a jar of the stuff. he nodded quickly "as if your not nice to her already" he smiled to kate, she really was nice to his mother, and his mother was weak for niceness.
when she took a bite of the strawberry he extended he could only laugh. taking another one he paused. she seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, was she thinking about how close she was? or the fact that this was slightly awkward? he didn't know but he held out the next berry, but not pushing her to eat it, he held it like a grave digger would with a lantern, but close to his face as well, a fork in the road, and now little red riding hood would have to decide. berry or kiss.
it was only to add some spice to this date, as the weather was gloomy and he wanted to make sure she didn't see it, or him rather, he just wanted to ignore his surroundings and just be with her in a bubble for the rest of his life.
some time passed
that was when he felt a small drop, but he wanted to deny what was about to happen, but if it did, they had the tree, and there was a huge jacket in his basket, big enough for them to share it believe it or not.

Looking back, she didn't really know why she was waiting. Fearful of rejection, the worry she might disappoint somehow or simply because it was too soon. She'd been flirting her ass off, willing him to make a move. It suddenly occurred to her that Logeun wasn't like the other boys at school. He wasn't a nail-and-bail kinda guy and she could respect that. It was killing her but she could respect that.
She'd forgotten she was making noises.
She always had, ever since she was a little girl. Whenever she ate something that she enjoyed immensely, she made a sound. The first time she'd had cauliflower and cheese as a toddler, Kate's mother thought there was something wrong with her. "So good," she gushed as she nodded to reaffirm that statement. She didn't realise she'd made such a noise and if she had, she would have apologised. Still happily eating the jam, she ran her tongue over the back of her spoon slowly.
She returned Logeun's grin, offering a gentle shrug. "No I know," she replied, softening her grin to a smile as she brushed back a lock of her hair. "I hoped she liked me," Kate said, looking up at her boyfriend as though to find reassurance in those big brown eyes of his. "Did she like me?" She asked, looking like a fearful child as she swallowed. They hadn't spoke of their parents after their date and if she was going to be honest, she had lost a little bit of sleep over it. As expected, her parents were extolling Logeun's virtues. She just needed him to tell her his parents adored her.
He was holding that strawberry like the apple from the Tree of Knowledge. And she wanted it. It was so tempting and her eyes flicked from the offered fruit to his mouth. Would it be wrong to ask him to feed her the entire punnet? Maybe she could rest her head in his lap and recline like a cat, the very picture of Cleopatra. Oooh, the image sent a tingle of excitement shoot down her spine as she imagined Logeun in a toga. Berry of kiss? Why couldn't Little Red Riding Hood have both?
Flashing him a grin, she closed the gap, leaning in closer than she had before due to how he held his hand. Oh he was flirting with her, forcing her closer to him and you know what? She liked it. A lot.
Kate dipped her head, taking a small bite out of the deeply red plump strawberry. Chewing, she felt herself drift closer to him, unable to help it. She closed her eyes and parted her lips, her hands on his knees to steady herself but just then, a drop of rain hit her cheek. Slowly, it slid down her cheek, causing her to instinctively pull back before she was able to kiss him. Glancing a look at the steely grey sky, she knew it would be a matter of seconds before it was start to really rain.
Unable to help herself, Kate laughed. With a groan, she slapped her hand to her forehead. The weather; mood killer since time began. Moving back, she hastily packed everything away. She slung her thin cardigan into the bag, chucking the food back into the basket with regret because she was still super hungry. She didn't want any of his belongings to get ruined. As she dashed about, she felt a few more splodges hit her bare shoulders. "Logeun!" She called, still laughing as she straightened up. The air felt colder and she was starting to shiver. Even though she didn't get a kiss, she was still really happy.
"Quick!" She giggled, looking around for some shelter but she couldn't see any. She didn't have any waterproof clothing and of all the days, she didn't have an umbrella. This was so silly. .
logeun laughed softly at her worry "she loves you, dont worry." his whole family did in fact. although his family was small and widespread, the news of his girlfriend traveled at the speed of sound. she was popular in the copperman's, whether she wanted to believe it or not. 'the girl who swept logeun's feet and made him a man.' he grinned at the thought, hopefully it was the same on her side of the family, he was really shy at the dinner and he didn't want to show it the wrong way.
the temptress has met her match, she looked at both options, eyeing them both carefully, he was sure what the other one was. when she aimed for the berry and took it he was a bit upset, but she came for him and he slid his eyes to a close, awaiting. but it never came so he quickly opened them again as she seemed to be rumbling about, throwing stuff into her bag. rain came slow to maryland, why was she all up and about?
but when she said his name he took it seriously, hopping to his feet he grumbled "ok ok!" as he helped her with his stuff he looked around, seeking shelter from the impending onslaught of h2o. he remembered the tree and he shot his glance straight to it. he then looked to kate as she told him to hurry up, he had his basket in hand and the blanket was on his shoulder, he used his free hand however to grab hers when he got the chance to, and he tugged her gently along to the tree.
and that's when the rain began to pick up. drip drop drip
he picked up his pace and was getting quite wet, until he finally plopped onto the still dry grass near the large tree, and he sighed as he opened his basket again, feeling the cold set in he planned ahead, this was either going to be grueling or satisfactory.
"need a jacket?" he smiled as he fished the jacket out of the basket, hoping she would accept his help.

The tension seemed to trickle out of her as her shoulders slumped and she managed a lopsided grin. Usually, she didn't really care what other people thought about her and why should she? Six months and she'd be done but Logeun was different. It was clear that his family meant a lot to him and if she wanted to stick around, it was paramount that she meant a lot to them too.
"They adored you," she admitted with a smile as she tilted her head to the left a little, letting long blonde curls cascade over her bare shoulders. That was an understatement. Her mum had gushed about him over breakfast the following morning. She'd said he was handsome and super smart and that she could tell he would take good care of her. Her dad didn't bother to look up from his newspaper but simply said that if Logeun ever broke her heart, he would break his legs. Kate was still a bit miffed about that.
"My grandparents want to meet you," she said with an embarrassed smile. She loved her family, she truly did but when they were all together, they were a bit…overpowering. "It's my grandfather's eightieth birthday next week," Kate said, biting on her full flower lip as she traced invisible patterns on the picnic blanket. "And I was wondering if you, know you," she said, stumbling over her words, fearful she might get rebuffed like she so often did. "Would like to come?" Here, she flicked her eyes back up to his, waiting with baited breath. It was a big deal to her. If she could expose Logeun to her entire family and he wouldn't crumble, then he was certainly a keeper.
The rain suddenly got heavier and it just made her laugh. "Oh wait!" She called with a giggle as he grabbed her hand. With her free hand, she set about yanking off her heeled boots as she sprinted through the dampened grass, the arm that held her shoes over her head to protect her hair. This was ridiculous but she liked rain, she always had. Once safely under the tree, she dumped her belongings and gave her bare toes a wiggle, the nails of which were today painted a delightful shade of turquoise which clashed against everything that she was wearing.
As she stood, Kate wrapped her bare arms around her slender body, her big green eyes watching the rain set in with a smile. She was probably the only girl he knew that loved rain. She watched it soak the landscape, her pretty face staring up at the dark sky through the gaps in the branches. It fascinated her. Almost as much as the stars did.
It was only when Logeun spoke that she finally snapped out of it. "Hm?" She asked, spinning around to see him sat down with a jacket. She grinned. Once a boy scout, always a boy scout; he was always prepared. She nodded, her long legs drawing closer, her hips sashaying naturally as she headed over to him. Despite lacking the figure and the confidence, Kate Harrison had the walk of a model.
Deciding to be a little bit bolder, she leant down. Her delicate little hands were placed on Logeun's knees as she spread them a little. Turning, she sat herself down in between his legs and wiggled a little, effectively capturing the two teenagers in a backwards hug with her back pressed comfortably against his chest. Truth be told, she was freezing. And this was awfully romantic. She hoped he didn't mind her taking charge but he was just sitting there, all cute and ever ready, like her own little Energiser Bunny. Bless him.
Once nestled, Kate leant back a little, pressing her back into his chest and hoping he didn't mind her body shoulder blades. She'd heard they could be pointy but of course, she hadn't ever seen them. "I love rain," Kate replied with a dreamy sigh as she peeked through the branches, giving a little shiver. She wasn't sure if it was down to the cool weather or the fact that Logeun was tantalisingly close. Probably the latter. She didn't mind the fact that her curls were slowly becoming unravelled due to the water, a few starting to kink at the ends as she lifted a hand to brush them out of her face. Absently, her warm fingers began to trace intricate little patterns on one of his forearms, a habit she'd always carried from childhood.
Honestly, this had been a beneficial turn of events as far as she was concerned. Maybe she could even fulfil one of her lifelong soppy romantic movie ambitions. She could if the rain continued to fall. Here's hoping Logeun would be fine with being drenched because in thirty seconds' time, he wouldn't have a choice. when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
logeun could only feel better, the fact that her parents liked him made him feel like he was accepted now, but something was missing, she wanted to do something more. he could feel it. but he continued to look at her, as they sat under the clouds and watched as the incoming rain would ruin their day. he held a small smile however, he always did.
but she continued and told him about her grandparents, and how a birthday was coming up. he felt the awkward tension from her building. he of course said "ill come, no problem." although he feared the worst, he would be severely out numbered. but he spoke calmly, anything for his girl. he would do all and everything for her. even go to a family birthday party, even though they both probably know that he would be the prime target for the event, even though the grandfather is eighty.
when they reached the safety of the tree from the rain, he still didn't feel safe. he actually felt colder, and as he sat down and tried to get comfortable with the tree, it denied his presence but he trudged forward. when she turned around and walked to him, he finally noticed that her shoes were off. thats weird...
oh well, some girls have their quirks, and kate's a nature girl. he smiled to that thought, she atleast wanted to get slightly with nature, other girls he knew would freak out in this situation. the fact that she was barefoot gave a bit more love to her.
and when she sat on him he felt complete. although he would have loved to be kissing her right now, this was good enough. he liked her against him like this. sure he would have liked it better if it was really this close and having a bit more fun but it would have to do for now. he could only hold a smile, wondering what she was thinking. he always did. he wanted to know what was on her mind, but he knew that there was always a buffer for it, never ask whats on the mind of someone, because some can find that offensive.
but something was bothering her, she didn't seem to be all settled in and wanting to cuddle. he only could muster a few words. "whats wrong?" not only did it feel like she wanted something, but just the silence and the slight tension from her position. he looked at the rain and thought of those soppy romantic movies. knowing that she was one of those girls that liked those movies he came to a conclusion.
he was going to have to run around with her in the rain. probably dance and kiss and all that fun stuff.
as much as he wanted to be with her and do all that stuff.
why in the rain? WHY!

Kate wasn't stupid, she knew Logeun didn't really want to go but he said he would anyway and the thought flattered her. She'd been there herself a few times, meeting a boyfriend's family for the first time. It was terrifying. There were so many new faces and names to remember and he'd probably feel like she was parading him around. She didn't want to do that. She wanted to wrap him up with cotton wool and keep him isolated, just him and her. And she would have done if it was anyone else's birthday but it was her grandfather's, her favourite person in the whole entire world.
She felt stupid and she looked down at her bare knees, rather intently so she didn't have to look at his face. She felt stupid at the dinner with their parents the other week, too. She'd asked Logeun if he'd go to her tennis match and he hadn't given her an answer. At least his parents had the decency to outright say no because they had something else planned but her boyfriend had left her hanging. Perhaps he didn't want to go to her match either? She let out a gentle sigh, feeling her heart sink but she didn't say anything and she refused to press either topic any more than she had done.
Happy to just watch the rain fall, Kate seemed quieter than usual. She didn't want to tell Logeun that she'd seen his discomfort and that she felt like he was just paying her lip service, telling her what she wanted to hear. Sure her family was rather rambunctious but they were generous, they were kind, warm hearted and they would welcome the boy with open arms so what was the issue? There was no way she was going to tell him that. If he asked her, she was going to lie through her perfect teeth.
Absently, her nimble fingers plucked at a sandwich, pulling the bread away from the crust and taking small, rabbit sized nibbles out of it. "Nothing's wrong," she said suddenly, blinking three times rapidly as she tilted her head back to look at him. "Why'd you ask?" Kate wanted to know. Her mother years ago had accused her of being a terrible lair but surely that meant that was a good quality?
It was too early in the relationship for a fight. Besides, he had said he would come to the party and the blonde forced herself to let the nagging feeling go. Why ruin a perfectly nice afternoon? Kate stretched her long bare legs out further, pointing her toes like a ballerina, trying to get her little feet wet. Ironically, Kate had been thrown out of ballet classes because the teacher had branded her an "uncoordinated elephant with all the grace of a car crash." Madame Bouvier had been such a delightful old woman. Not.
"I'm comfy," she said in an attempt to placate him. Wiggling a little, she attempted to further burrow herself into Logeun's arms, the warmth he was radiating felt lovely and she'd quite forgotten what she'd been so stupidly worked up over. Arching her back, she strained her body to an extent that she was able to contort and place a gentle kiss on the underside of his jaw. It was all the yoga. Kate was as flexible as a fresh a freshly cooked noodle.
"Just thinking," she offered quietly, overcome with the desire of a toddler to run around outside. Logeun didn't understand and she didn't expect him to. You know what? Fuck it. She was going.
"Could you just excuse me for one minute?" Kate asked, ever polite as she untangled herself from the taller boy. She hadn't seen rain in weeks, they'd had a lovely summer here in Ocean City. She had the same reaction as she did to snow; she found it fascinating and more exploring needed to be done. Throwing caution to the wind, the tall girl stepped out from under the protective canopy of the tree and into the rain.
Almost instantly, she was soaked, the thin white material of the top half of her dress becoming decidedly less opaque, the fabric clinging provocatively to her curves. Did she care? Pssh. With her pretty face turned up towards the sky, she closed her bright green eyes, sticking her tongue out like a kid trying to catch a snowflake. Rain felt good. Rain was good. She didn't want to embarrass Logeun by looking like a total crazy person but the park was deserted so why couldn't she enjoy herself? It wasn't like she was offending anyone.
Totally lost in the moment, Kate turned in a circle to perform a neat little pirouette, arms above her head and a look of pure joy on her face as she grinned. Some girls liked diamonds, some girls had champagne tastes but Katie? Give her a storm and she'd adore you for it. Would it thunder? Amazing! Having a whale of a time, she continued to spin, her bare feet kicking at the wet grass, sending little droplets of water every where. If he didn't want to come out and join her (why would he? It was raining!) then so be it. She could have all the fun she wanted all on her own. when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
logeun wondered only more as she told him that nothing was wrong. there was something wrong, did he do something wrong? what did he do wrong, was it something he forgot or said? he didn't know but he started to think of their past conversations. the first one at the party, they hit off well, nothing wrong there. the beach hangout and first kiss was perfect as well. the dinner was shaky, maybe it was something about it?
the dinner... she did well with his parents but he remembered a small part of the dinner, the moment where she asked his parents to watch her play tennis, and they replied genuinely with the fact that they were busy. he had said nothing due to the fact he was sweating bullets trying to hold himself back from telling her blankly that he would go. he really would. maybe he would have to ask her later by calling or something.
he should probably be more careful of his words and pay more attention. but the silence was killer. she played with her words, kissing his chin and then slipping out from under him. he only watched dumbly as she walked out into the rain and just.. stood there..
he could only follow suit, taking off his jacket and feeling the chilling wind and incoming bullets of water sneaking through the tree. he finally made it to her and realized that if he stared at her clothing, he would be considered a perv, blast it.
he laughed softly as he stepped out into the rain, feeling the cold begin its assault. he then took his chances and slid his arm next to hers, touching it slowly and softly, wondering if she would take it and drag him through the rain, it would be quite the situation to explain when he got home.
but why did he care about that? his parents were out of town this weekend to new york and he was alone. alone..
he never said that, not anymore now that he had kate. she was the only person he had right now.
he flinched quickly as he looked up and got a face drenched in water, as well, definitely waking him up.

This wasn't a traditional date but Kate wasn't a traditional girl. A small part of her fretted over that. What if Logeun thought she was someone that she wasn't? What if he expected her to be some Barbie doll with perfect hair and make up, who behaved appropriately? Well that just was not her. She was quirky and it might have been a fault. Like dancing in the rain instead of having a picnic. She hoped she hadn't blown it.
The coldness didn't bother her.
She didn't really feel it which seemed silly considering she was wearing just a skimpy little dress. She didn't notice Logeun starting and if she had, she'd be simply mortified. In hindsight, she was thankful that she hadn't chosen to wear her red underwear. Imagine that. Kate had an array of inappropriate underwear which was probably wasted as she had no one to admire it but then again, she bought underwear for her and no one else. Would Logeun be the type of boy to buy her underwear as a gift?
She entertained the thought of him in a lingerie store, red faced and awkward as he tried to remember her size. It was so adorable. Even the fictional Logeun was perfect. Swiftly, she laughed. Nah. He was far too proper for that. As she felt a touch of warm skin to hers, she swiftly opened her eyes, still laughing. "What are you doing out here?" Kate asked, raising her voice a little above the rain, confusion clear on her pretty facial features. Lifting a hand, she brushed a lock of blonde hair that had been plastered wetly to her forehead back behind her left ear. He was cold. Why was he all wet?
Though secretly, she rather enjoyed him wet. God, she was turning into such a nymphomaniac but all this sexual tension was driving her insane. She was determined to cool her jets, to be proper. Even if they waited six dates, six weeks, six months, who cared? Sex was an important part of a relationship sure but it wasn't the be-all-and-end-all. There was far more important, better stuff to look forward to.
He'd had dinner with her parents. He'd agreed to come to her grandfather's birthday party. He was with her now, standing in the rain. Why had she ever doubted him? She was such a bitch. She didn't deserve him. Kate looked over at him and watched as he had his eyes closed, feeling her heart swell with affection. She needed to make it up to him and soon. She needed to delve deeper and find out what he liked. Maybe she could find a copy of his favourite movie and get some snacks and have a traditional movie night. Or take him to a sports game. All guys liked sports, right? Dating was such a minefield!
Without saying a word, she stepped around to stand in front of him. Without her heels, she was a good three or four inches shorter than Logeun and she smiled at that fact. With his eyes still closed, she raised herself up onto her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his softly. Ridiculous ambition number twenty-three; kiss someone in the rain. Check. It was their first kiss of the day so far and it was well overdue. Looping her arms loosely around his neck, she ignored a stray raindrop that rolled down the length of her spine under her dress. It was overused and horrible clichéd but you know what? She could care less.
"Thank you, Prince Charming," Kate said when she broke the kiss, her lips still close to his as she smiled. "You followed me," she said, sounding amazed that he'd do that and she was amazed. Anyone else probably would have told her to stop being silly but not him. He was a keeper.
How far was he willing to go, she wondered. He'd helped her in one cliché, it might be fun to go for another. Without saying anything, she loosened her hold on him and slid one hand down the centre of his back before trailing it back up his wet shirt to place it on his shoulder. Her right hand took one of his, holding it up and away from them a little in the traditional starting position for a pair of ballroom dancers. She flashed him a grin, eyes sparkling. He needed to let loose, he needed to do something stupid and today was a perfect opportunity. "Dance with me, Logeun." when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
as he stood there beside her, he wondered what she was thinking. although it was bad to think about other peoples thoughts, curiosity kills kittens. he could only imagine what she wanted from him. maybe he was being too nice and just should be like all the other guys, its what got them laid. he could become a douche, its not that hard, he had the looks and the money and the charm to be one. but something was holding that back, maybe a sense of decency, he didn't know.
but a smile widened across his face as she stood to face him, he watched the rain impact her face for a moment, until she leaned up to kiss him. his tall figure was something, but the face that she could do it quite with ease made him feel better that she wasn't any shorter, considering the amount of time they would spend kissing, he would become the hunchback of manchester prep, but no, she was tall enough.
he enjoyed this moment, although it was just a kiss. it was a kiss in the rain, its not like it was any different than any other one, but then again, it was in the pouring rain. when she parted and called him what most girls would just giggle about, he smiled knowing it was genuine. "moments should be enjoyed together." he whispered as she moved his hands to an awkward position.
but then he figured it out.
dancing in the rain, even though it was in every love song, it was never as powerful to the actual thing. it was one thing to do the dances of the decade in the rain, which included what looked like sex with clothes, but no, she positioned him to do a ballroom dance. which was completely unexpected, but he readied himself the steps.
normally he wouldn't do this, he was better than this to get completely soaked and probably sick as well, but it didn't matter now, he needed to get footloose, no pun intended.
he smiled back to her captivating gaze "may i have this dance?" he asked like any gentleman would at a ballroom, but he began to move his feet, the rain sliding now and his wet shoes squished silently, but he quickly slipped out of them in a awkward way, still continuing to dance.
he kept a small smile as he continued the motions, his mother had taught him how to ballroom dance, and it was a bit embarrassing but did that matter around kate what was embarrassing and what was normal? no

He was picture perfect, the whole thing was picture perfect. They'd been dating for a little over two weeks and it meant more to her than any other relationship she'd ever had. Kate was an optimistic girl and she hadn't, for one second, thought that Logeun would ever leave her. He was perfect the way he was. He was so funny and kind and sweet and he blew every other boy at Manchester Prep out of the water.
She could kiss him for hours. She'd figured out almost instantly that he was a wonderful kisser and why shouldn't he be? From the endless hours she'd spent staring at him in Chemistry class, she'd realised he had perfectly shaped lips. And now up close and personal with them, she could safely say she was rather content. She kissed him again, still on her tiptoes. The height difference wasn't terribly drastic but the last thing she wanted for him was to get lower back pain.
She didn't feel the rain any more, the heat he was radiating was warming her. Breaking the kiss once more, she grinned. She reached up, eyes sparkling as they watched a single rain drop slowly drip down the finely chiselled planes of his face. Everything about him captivated her. Was it possible to fall in love so suddenly? It was like Romeo and Juliet but hopefully without all the death. Kate smiled and nodded, a lock of soaking wet hair falling lank at her cheek. Urgh, she must look ridiculous right now.
"I think I'd like to share another couple of these moments with you," she said honestly. She felt stupid. Everything she said sounded moronic and overused but she was telling him exactly how she was feeling. And she was feeling good.
He'd said the magic words.
Kate offered him a grin, bright and sparkling and it lit up her entire face. Logeun simply made her happy without even trying. "Why of course, kind sir," she purred, putting on her very best upperclass English accent. It was like a Jane Austen novel and she didn't even care. This was fun, indulging her bizarre fantasies. Kate was weird. Pure, unadulterated kooky. Would he be able to handle that? It was only light hearted. Accordingly, Kate made a cute little curtsy before reassuming the position.
She had an inkling that Logeun had been taught to dance. From what she'd seen of his mother, she seemed the type to bring up her son with good old fashioned values. "I didn't know you could dance," she said with a laugh, easily falling into the traditional steps. She stepped forward, forcing him back, her slim body stepping out to the left as she began a slow circle. The rain was still strong, she didn't think it would end for a while and she was counting her lucky stars that she hadn't overdone it with the make up.
He was a competent dancer she realised. He should be wearing a suit, well cut and tailored with a silk tie. He should be in a big grand ball room, at one of those masquerade balls. Logeun was grand, too grand for Ocean City. He was beautiful. Kate was happy that he'd loosened up a little more and decided to join her in the rain. It was something new and she wanted to give him new opportunities, something that no other girls had.
Lifting one of his arms, she ducked under it, inviting him to spin her as she laughed again. This was so fun! Kate neatly stepped back into him, closer than before, turning it into more of a slow dance as she swayed. It was funny. It had taken a beach kiss, a dinner with his parents and a dance in the rain to realise she'd fallen for him and fallen hard. It was on the tip of her tongue to tell him. With one of her secretive little smiles, she raised a pale hand to his hair. She slicked it back for him, her touch feather light, playfully moulding it into a Mohawk before letting it fall flat again. As creepy as it was, she wanted to ask what soap he used because the scent when he held her was intoxicating. His light, lemony scent. Clean, calm and reassuring.
"What are you doing tonight?" Kate asked, absently wondering. She wasn't hinting for another date, she was simply wondering. Would he be studying? Probably. She liked that about him.
Kate closed the gap more. Still in the ballroom pose, she rested her chin on his shoulder as she let out a happy little sigh. They were both probably going to get a particularly nasty cold. If he did, she was going to bring him sweet tea and grilled cheese sandwiches, boxes of tissues, pillows and blankets and happily nurse him back to health. Snuggling under that picnic blanket looked good right now. when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
for some reason, kissing her was different every time, maybe it was just the situations he was in, but he always liked each and every one, regardless of the situation. he'd always cast a small smile to kate in classes and when he walked by, never really thinking they'd end up kissing in the pouring rain, and both were prone to get a cold, maybe she would take care of him if he did. regardless if he did, if she did, he would care for her.
when he spoke, he felt retarded in a few seconds.
its when she replied that he did, he had forgot his english accent, but he laughed softly none the less, quickly falling into step. he felt ashamed that she noticed so quickly that he could dance like this. she probably knew who taught him, it was extremely obvious. he only replied with a casual "im a man of many talents." still keeping pace with her.
he knew he shouldn't ask the same question to her, she was a lady, and they were supposed to be taught, even though it is a dieing style. he could only let out a small sigh every now and then as she led the dance, but he kept up, dont get him wrong. but it would be only proper to let the woman lead something like this.
he looked to her, although you could clearly see she worked on her face with the makeup, which he hated, girls that would hide their true beauty. but he would deal with it for kate. if anything, she was multiplying her beauty. why was he talking to himself like this? he did not know, but he didn't like it, it reminded him of his doubting self that he had before kate.
but the next move surprised him, when she, without a word told him to spin her as she motioned with her leaning on an arm, in which he spun her slowly, following her wishes. he had never really danced with a girl like this, it was usually the club music that he was just swaying to with a girl, and for some reason, they liked it? he sighed as she continued, he couldn't find the strength to stop her.
he could only laugh as she placed her hand in his hair, he couldn't see what she was doing, but he could feel the bunch of hair made to stand. but it flopped down from being combed too much and he let out a small smile and looked to her. she asked a casual question, but he wondered what she was thinking, probably just a casual question, they had enough fun for today.
"oh probably either watch a movie or two, or just talk to you on the phone."
he nothing better to do anyway, and besides, he had done all his summer work, now he just wanted to enjoy the last few days of freedom before school started up again.oh the oncoming doom. but he answered the question, but wanted to know what she was thinking of doing tonight.
"what about you?" he said as she laid her chin on his shoulder, he could feel it, he turned his head to her direction, noticing that the rain had slowed to a small drizzle, and maybe they wouldn't get completely rained out. sure the rains in maryland were strong, but they were fast, almost tropical.

"Really?" Kate said with a chuckle, blinking at him through the rain that she did notice was starting to lessen. The raindrops she felt on her shoulder no longer hurt, it was more of a metaphorical kiss now. "Well Mr. Copperman," the tall blonde began, clearly joking as she tilted her head with an easy grin. "Besides being funny, super smart, kind, sweet, an excellent dancer, an even more excellent kisser, unexpectedly romantic and devilishly handsome, what else could you possibly be keeping up your sleeve?" Did he speak several languages, too?
In the rain, the powder she'd applied as a form of make up and washed off. The pale, satin skin of her pretty face was there again and the smattering of freckles that she'd tried ever so hard to cover up were now on full display. Kate hated them. She'd always thought that they made her look childish and stupid. She might as well have her hair in pigtails and wear Heelies. She did still do that, actually. She often wore her hair in bunches, not really giving a flying fart in space about whether or not it was socially acceptable for a seventeen year old girl to wear ribbons in her hair.
As Logeun spun her, her slender body almost instantly twirled, her damp skirt spinning out to flick water droplets everywhere as she laughed. Properly laughed. High and tinkling, like she was genuinely enjoying herself and the sound echoed around the empty park. She'd never faked her laughter, ever. She needed bother. Everything tickled her funny bone. Including dancing in the rain with her decidedly confused boyfriend. God, he was adorable. He was putting up with her already and he still had no idea how downright strange she was.
Or just talk with you on the phone he'd said and promptly, Kate's insides went all warm and gooey and she offered him a big goofy smile. Logeun probably didn't know that talking to him, even on the phone, was the highlight of her week. She'd spend hours, just talking nonsense, just happy to hear his voice. She wore a grin that stretched from ear to ear, often skipping down the stairs to the kitchen, causing her parents to shoot her a funny look. Did she care? Nuh-uh. Kate always texted Logeun goodnight right before she fell asleep because she liked him being the last person she spoke to. Tonight, she decided she'd call him to say goodnight.
"But won't you get lonely?" She asked, her big eyes searching his face as her full lips down turned at the corners to form a frown. Watching a movie alone was fine if you were sick but he seemed in good health today. Were his parents not around? Kate found the notion strange. She was never really left alone, there was always someone there, she'd never gone more than a few days without seeing anyone. Maybe that was why she was holding Logeun so tight, scared that he'd somehow turn into dust, somehow leave her.
A small part of her wanted to invite herself over. Bring a few movies and snacks with her with the ruse that she'd totally forgot. Her body gave a delicate shiver, suddenly cold as she pictured them wrapped up in a blanket, snuggling on his sofa. She thought his sofa would be big, plush, maybe cream or white. His parents seemed the minimalist type and that was cool. She'd never say that. She wasn't one of those forward girls, the ones who said oh you're home alone? Great! I'll see you at seven! Urgh, no. She was well mannered, sweet and polite. But she felt bad. She didn't even consider the fact that Logeun might want to spend some time away from her to just chill out and she understood that. Kate was quite a handful.
Kate shrugged, not really sure. "Probably take a bubble bath," she said. She needed to exfoliate her legs but she didn't want to tell Logeun that. She wanted to leave him with the image of her in the bath, bubbles everywhere, listening to something soft and slow on the radio as opposed to what she'd really be doing which was rubbing sugar into her legs to get rid of dead skill cells and painting her toenails. Lovely. Truth be told, she had nothing planned and she'd be doing the same as he was, watching movies and talking on the phone to him. She wanted to ask if he wanted some company tonight but after all the effort he went to with the delightful picnic, she needed to cut him some slack.
In her position, she felt him turn his head and she did the same, pulling back an inch or two so she could kiss the tip of his nose cutely. "I'm a little cold," she admitted with a lopsided grin as she took his hand to stop the dance and head back under the tree. It was a bit weird, dancing with no music but she was playing She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5 in her head. Adam Levine was a god and his voice was so sexy.
Once back under the tree, Kate realised it was too late because they were already soaked through but no matter! Grabbing the picnic blanket, she drapped it around her shoulders, the fabric over her head like a little hood as she patted the dry grass beside her, holding the fabric open so she could sit next to her and keep warm like a makeshift coat. She'd feel bad taking his jacket, it felt expensive and it smelt like him. She wondered if she could have one of his old t shirts that he didn't wear any more that she could sleep in when he wasn't around. She had the funny feeling that she was going to get more and more attached. Which was silly because they hadn't even slept together and now she wanted to borrow his clothes? Kate Harrison was such a creepy girlfriend.
"What movie are you gonna watch tonight?" She asked, genuinely interested as she blinked over at him from under the fabric of the blanket with a smile. "If you're on your own, I wouldn't suggest anything too heavy. Comedies are good." when the clouds began to form, [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,5,true]
.
she asked him how many talents he had. he never really knew that he had THAT many, she was just flattering him. was he really what she said he was? or was she just playing the awesome girlfriend? he didn't know, or care rather. he decided to play safe and reply with a gentle "we'll leave that for another day for you to figure out." hinting the rather obvious, but he played it off as something as, just in case.
when she smiled, so did he. but he smiled for more than the fact that she was cute when she did. no, he finally saw the real her, one that he only occasionally saw at school. her cute face, natural and glowing, even with freckles she looked stunning. he felt too giddy though, he needed to calm down.
when he spun her, her dress flicked water everywhere, and he laughed along with her. he didn't know why he was so different around her, he remember before, when he would pass her in the halls last year, he was socially awkward for a prep, it was a bit embarrassing. he was lucky that he was this high up the ladder because he had no grudges, never really got into this drama business. but if he would have been judged seriously before, he would have been stuck with the nerds.
although it was a bad thought, he brushed it off quickly as she smiled, it wasn't him that snapped himself out, it was her smile. he could only smile back and try to read her mind, but she spoke it quite quickly. "my parents aren't home as it is." he said with a small sigh, sure his parents were annoying him now, but he still loved them, even if they bugged him to call kate every night and always stay in touch. its not like if they didn't remind him he wouldn't do it, it was just that they nagged him before he ever got the chance to do it himself.
when she replied with her evening he could only imagine. her giggling and playing with bubbles in the bath, beckoning him inside. he shook the thought out of his head, no, none of these thoughts, she wasn't one of those girls, he knew that. he would respect her, atleast wait until she's done with the bath right?
anyway he looked at her with concern as she spoke out that she was cold, so was he, but men don't ever complain about themselves or anything. he could only follow her to the tree, where they made a makeshift camp, huddling together. he smiled at their picture, two lovebirds cuddling to avoid the cold, to avoid the world really.
he only replied with a casual sigh "i thought you could help me out in picking one, im a bit indecisive when it comes to movies." he hinted to her coming over, if she didn't get the message he would just say it outright soon.

Deep down, she knew he was some sort of superhero. Clearly, a Clark Kent. By day, Logeun was this sweet and kind, soft spoken man and by night, he clearly ripped his shirt off and saved the world. He could rip her shirt off if he wanted to. She was wearing a nice dress she wasn't particularly fond of it anyway. She caught his gaze and fought the urge to smile but she failed. Blushing again, she looked away.
He was hinting, albeit gently, about sex. She knew enough about boys to figure that out but least he was being really cute about it. She was just…scared. Scared to take the first step, she didn't really know how to go about it. Wine and candles? Kate didn't like wine and she was dangerous with fire. She fell into deep thought, momentarily forgetting all about him. For one, she'd changed her underwear. Nothing too scary like cut away fabric or anything but maybe something cute, pink was cute. She had a matching pink set, a balconette bra with little shorties that might work. Right now, she was wearing her Elmo panties and she wished she wasn't.
Once huddled up under the picnic blanket, she knew she looked plain ridiculous but at least she was safe and warm. My parents aren't home as it is. Her heart lurched in her chest as a heard of butterflies exploded in the pit of her stomach. Cool. She needed to play it cool. "Oh," Kate finally stated with a smile as she looked over at him. "A weekend away?" She asked cheerfully. How romantic was that? She thought it was awesome, just taking two or three days away, just them, no teenage son. She hoped Dr. and Mrs. Copperman went somewhere nice, like a city break.
It suddenly occurred to her that she needed to back off.
After all, it was his parents' house and she hadn't gotten his parents' permission to be there. Even for a movie and she felt guilty. She was forcing, coercing Logeun into asking her over. She was a terrible person. Urgh. Terrible. Awful. Selfish. Did Logeun have a bath? Was it big enough for two? Oh God. There she goes again!
As he asked for a movie recommendation, she blinked. Her face screwed up, her perfectly groomed eyebrows furrowing together as she wracked her brains. Her family wasn't really a movie family. They didn't have a lot of DVDs and Kate only went to the movies by herself, always by herself. Her friends wanted to see horror movies or movies with no plot lines so she figured she'd rather go by herself and enjoy it.
Kate wiggled closer to Logeun, wrapping the blanket around her, still keeping her make shift hood. It felt nice, like they'd built a little fort and blocked the entire stupid world out. She didn't know. It was hard to choose for someone else, movies were a mood thing. She had to be in a mood for a movie, like she had to be in a mood to listen to The Hives. Some days they were epic and she'd dance around the kitchen and others, it was just nonsensical noise.
"Mmm," she said, still frowning, thinking about her own modest DVD collection in her large bedroom back home. "Indiana Jones?" Kate finally settled on with a little grin, shrugging. "The Last Crusade, not the Kingdom of The Crystal Skull," she said, pulling a face as though she found the final instalment of the saga as being awful. And it was, it was utterly ridiculous. She adored Harrison Ford, he was just so…manly. Grrr. Who cared if he was officially a pensioner? He was such a silver fox.
It was a good movie, it didn't require a lot of thought so it was just nice to kick back and watch. She didn't realise he was going about asking her over, she thought he was just asking for ideas. "It's one of my favourites," she went on to say, eyes sparking the way they did when she spoke about something she was passionate about or that she truly loved. It was a perfect combination. It was dramatic, a little bit scary (she'd have to hug Logeun when the man drank from the wrong chalice and turned to dust, perfect excuse) but it was light hearted. It was perfect.
"I can lend you my copy if you don't have it," the blonde said as she looked over at him, her kind, every-ready smile still in place. She hoped Logeun would take her up on her recommendation, it was a great movie.
