life
for a middle name of lavender, tahir isn't quite as tame as people would think him to be. born and raised in maryland, tahir's parents met during a concert during the eighties, where his father fell in love with his free-spirited mother - a woman who was probably too high and interested in his lovely locks to be really attentive to his true feelings. the courting process was a long one, due to the fact that emilie had a wandering eye and wasn't quite ready to settle down. however, the moment that she discovered she was pregnant, the girl realized that she was ready to become both a mother and a wife. tahir's father came from eastern europe, from an area that is now ex-yugoslavia. he had initially left the country in order to experience something new and to live the american dream. it was an odd union, mostly due to their conflicting religious backgrounds and the fact that they both had strict sets of parents. rather than wait for their respective elders to sort out their differences, tahir's mother and father eloped, eager to set up a life for themselves. of course, life isn't all peaches and cream, so of course there were some difficulties in creating a family home for tahir to be born into. luka had a degree in philosophy, however it was one that he found lacked many job opportunities. emilie had finished high school, but had never gone on to tertiary education and instead worked wherever she could find a position. for that reason, both young adults were forced to work through emilie's pregnancy, with the woman going into labour whilst shelving books at the local library. at this point, luka was lucky to gain a teaching job at the local high school - an occupation that didn't pay much but still managed to secure the pair a single bedroom flat. tahir milatovic came into the world, screaming and purple, on august the seventh, nineteen-ninety-four. despite the fact that he wasn't born into privelige, he was born into a loving family. his birth meant that his mother was out of work, however she completed a minor accounting degree online and made some small profit through settling accounts for other individuals. luka, on the other hand, took on another job at the local hardware store, in order to provide the best he could for his wife and son. it wasn't long before the pair earned enough between them to secure a small house, and then for luka to return to university in order to receive a formal teaching degree. it was after this that he became a lecturer at the very same university, meaning that the milatovics were slightly more comfortable with their living standards. tahir's childhood consisted mostly of whatever games his mother could think up out of her imagination, and playing out on the streets with his neighbourhood buddies. he attended elementary school and had a fairly smooth transition through it to high school. making friends wasn't the easiest thing for him, though tahir eventually learnt to ignore the taunts about his middle name and instead adopted a standoff-ish exterior which managed to get him through. however, it became apparent that the boy was more content in his own thoughts to really become involved with those of other people's. majority of his time is spent at the skatepark or at the local walmart, where he stocks shelves for a petty amount of pay. he does feel an incredible sense of responsibility towards his parents, who have worked to get him through school, and are investing as much as they can into his tertiary education. tahir is content with drifting from crowd to crowd, and doesn't really invest in many of his relationships. he has had his share of teenage love, however it takes a considerable effort to contain the youth and keep him occupied, considering that he has his mother's wayward spirit. the one thing that manages to frighten tahir is the fact that he has absolutely no idea of what he wants to do in later life, and has a considerable amount of insecurity, due to the fact that he doesn't wish to let his parents down. for now, he's more or less at ease with taking each day at high school as it comes.
roleplaying sample
independence day was undoubtedly the most pointless holiday that america celebrated - at least, according to jesse wright. any idiot could tell that he wasn't interested in the 'liberation of this bountiful country', and really didn't care for the amount of grief that the fireworks were surely to give his dog. not that ophelia was at the top of his list of priorities, but still. the fourth of july really just seemed to be yet another excuse to set off fireworks and get wasted, as was the way by which today's youth conducted themselves. as much as he had it in him to complain, the youth couldn't help but to smirk at his current 'holiday' luck - fortunately, in the form of a pretty blonde perched on his knee. with her heated breath blooming against his neck, and her hands fiddling with the collar of his shirt, jesse came to the conclusion that he definitely couldn't lament against his situation. he had been a little more under the weather than usual, as of late. it had seemed to be the result of losing a very pretty play thing to the clutches of a further education - virginia sutton's exit from his life had resulted in a more severe reaction than usual from the otherwise apathetic male. he was a possessive creature by nature, and naturally wasn't all about letting go of something that interested him without his being ready to do so. she had disappeared from his life as quickly as she had entered it, and without even thinking of bidding him a farewell. he was bitter, but then again, when was the wright boy not?
as the girl nibbled at the delicate skin of his neck, he sighed, allowing his eyes to flutter shut for the briefest of moments. bluewater, quite frankly, was at the top of his 'most boring towns' list. sure, the flow of people coming in and out of its limits was constant, but no one was ever interesting enough for him. there simply wasn't anybody that caught his eye for all that long, and certainly no body who caught his interest. that may have been a good thing for the quiet town's demeanour, but a bored jesse wright was never a good thing. with heightened disinterest came a higher likelihood that he would act brashly, and directly off his somewhat twisted instincts. you know, he began, fingers creeping up the girl's thigh, there's not much i wouldn't give for some entertainment right now.... as she looked up and batted her eyelashes at him, jesse smirked yet again - it really just took a handful of sweet nothings and a couple of drinks before yet another girl ended up where this one currently was. as she tipped her face up to meet his lips, he studied her face, wondering if he could see a flaw in her features. you're pretty average looking, you know. of course, the flush of indignation rose in her cheeks as she pulled away, only to have his fingers catch her chin, bringing her face close to his again. you'll go when i say so. hissing his words at her, his face abruptly dissolved in a smile, accentuating the perilous line by which his emotions were currently treading.
there was a flare of fear in her eyes as she attempted to slide off his lap, uttering mumbled curses and apologies in an incoherent stream. his eyes remained on her face for a long moment, seeming to sway between two sides of himself until he released her, allowing her to drop to the floor at his feet. if you're going to be boring, then leave. as she scrambled away from him, the male sighed, crossing his legs casually and surveying the scene beneath him. he was situated in one of the better clubs in town, one that was undoubtedly run by ianto price - a fact that was obvious due to the fact that it prospered significantly more than the other haunts in bluewater. situated up in the vip section, jesse gestured for another scotch on the rocks, his eyes scanning the crowd for anyone else who might be more interesting than the female he had just wasted his time with. as his gaze brushed against a somewhat familiar blonde head of hair, male this time, jesse rolled his eyes. river blakeley had already given him his share of grief, mostly for his constant arrogance and rich boy persona. a period of clashes and series of butting heads had lead to somewhat of a truce, as both men had realized just how similar the other was - a fact that wasn't greatly appreciated by the wright boy, but there wasn't much that he could do about it.
giving a wave to the pretty boy as his gaze moved past the section where jesse was seated, he beckoned for him to come closer with a lazy expression on his features. even conversing with the blakeley kid seemed like a better idea than just sitting where he was, or attempting to gather up the energy to go elsewhere. sipping on his drink as he waited for river to head on up, jesse looked off into the distance, the mounting irritation with his boredom clearly showing on his face. blakely, purring as he looked up at the other male, jesse smiled, the expression not quite reaching his eyes, i hope you're having a very happy fourth of july. if that was what people said to one another on the day, then sure, he would go along with it. beckoning for the waiter to come past them again, he looked up, expression radiating apathy as he gestured to his companion - put anything that mister blakeley orders on my tab, if you will. reclining back, he sighed, gaze shifting back to river - i'm so bored that even your company is looking like it'll be my best chance of salvaging my night. sipping on the scotch again, the male blew an irritated breath and resumed his watch of the floor - surely a pretty lady would saunter in soon?
