It wasn't as if they were the funnest things in the world... Though she had yet to find something she had a better time at. There was something just so off-putting about the whole situation tonight though. Maybe it was the sweaty bodies that rubbed up on her on all the wrong places, or the way the floor felt so grungy through her sandals, or maybe it was the way that Maverick stood against a wall staring holes into her. She had been dancing happily up until the moment she had realized that he was enjoying the show and now she was furious. She didn't want him to enjoy the show. She hadn't even been putting it on for him, it was actually for the guy now standing a few inches away from her with a questioning look on his face but she couldn't bring herself to care about him again. She didn't know why she disliked Mavercik enough to let him put her off her game so easily, there was just something about him that ticked her off instantly. It was like she had a hidden button that only he knew how to click, or maybe he had a remote control for it?
Surely it was the alcohol she had consumed that had her walking [well, more like stomping] towards the guy with the idea of clawing his eyes out. She was suddenly glad for her usually incredibly awkward height when she came up to him and realized he didn't tower over her as he probably did with a million other girls and couldn't help the smirk that grew across her face upon this realization. "Looking for something Maverick? I can feel your filthy eyes just roaming across my body." The gleam in her eyes was dangerous, a wrong word from him and she was sure she'd actually try to claw his eyes out. "Fucking leave me alone Mav. I may be a slut, but even I have standards and you just don't cover them." He wasn't really that bad looking, she didn't really know what it was about him that put her off... All she knew was that she didn't want him looking at her, not now, not ever.[/style] |

Mav was out at some party drinking who knew what. He really didn’t even remember whose house he was at. And honestly he wasn’t sure what was in his red solo cup anymore. It was a mixture of something, he just didn’t know what. He took a sip from his drink and looked around the room. Usually he was more lively, but he was still recuperating from the grueling twelve hour practices that the coach had them running before school had started. Plus working out on his own now that school started to make sure that he was in his best form for the Yale recruiters. Add on top of that the loads of homework from his AP classes. Ya Mav wasn’t getting much sleep these days. But still, here he was, out at a party. He couldn’t let his social game go down the tubes just because he was working his butt off in other aspects of life.
His eyes gazed over the room and soon landed on Kaitlyn. A small smirk placed itself on his face as he watched her dance. It wasn’t as if he was intently gazing at her. No she was just a nice view and he was too tired to try and find someone else. Mav couldn’t help but snicker as the girl angrily made her way towards him. She had never liked him and he knew it. Which was why he pushed her buttons whenever he got the opportunity. It was just fun. And it entertained him when he was bored. He let his smirk grow wider as she reached him. He wanted to laugh when she started talking, but he held his expression in place. ‘Oh come on Katey-bell. You know you were dancing like that just to get my attention.’ Mav’s tone was dripping with sarcasm because he knew that wasn’t the truth. He also knew that the only reason that he was looking at her was because his eyes were tired and she was pulling focus. So sue him for being a stupid male who would rather stare at some girl he didn’t care much for with a hot body dance around than find someone better to try and go screw.

Or kicking him where the sun didn't shine. Or maybe cutting off his dick. Or maybe... Maybe she had to stop with the aggressiveness. She tried calming down with those relaxation breaths they'd taught her last year when she'd tried out yoga, needless to say, they didn't work too well against the frustration Maverick caused in her. Flexing her hands continually, she tried to speak civilly, her voice coming out more as a growl than anything else. "I hate it when you call me that. Is that hard to understand? It makes me think of that Gryffindor chaser in Harry Potter and while I may love that series I think Katey Bell is stupid." It took everything in Kaitlyn to keep herself standing where she was and not go off inside the house looking for a gun to off herself with. Why had she said that? It made her sound like an idiot... And while she may not care what Maverick thought about her; rumors were harsh in Manchester High. Besides, she had a reputation to keep up with! Slutty, airheaded, bitchy and popular. Right? Sighing, she narrowed her eyes at Maverick before deciding to turn around and leave. She didn't really feel like fighting right now.
"I'm not really in the mood for stupid fights right now, and if I keep talking to you... Well, you're only going to piss me off. So bye Maverick, stop looking at me and go get a girl or something." Even with her angry words and motives, she didn't make a move to get away from Maverick; instead eyeing his glass. Quickly and without really knowing why, she grabbed it and drunk a good and hearty gulp before handing it back to him, her nose wrinkling in distaste. "What shit are you drinking? I swear that's worse than the coctail Hunter once made me when he wanted to become a bartender, ewwww." She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, her face scrunching up in disgust at the drink's taste that was lingering in her mouth. "Actually, I imagine that tastes like you. You probably taste gross." She knew she was being contradictory but there was something about Maverick that just made her want to step up to the plate and not back down. Pride? Probably... All that she knew was that if he started fighting back it was going to be a very interesting night.[/style] |

Ya, she probably brought the worst in him but he loved it. He loved messing with her. He never got this reaction out of any other girl. Most girls just fell over him. Not that he was being conceited or anything, but that’s just how it was. Being on the football team and the captain of the baseball team tended to do that. If he wanted he could have his pick of any girl in the room, but he picked Kate. He was pretty sure it was because she was the only girl who didn’t fall for his charm. He figured that once he got her he would move on, but for not she hated his guts so his interest stayed on her. ‘Oh you love it. Just admit it. You dream of me calling you that. You wish I would be your Oliver Wood.’ Mav tended to keep his knowledge of Harry Potter under wraps. Sure he was a smart kid in school, but that didn’t mean he sunk down to the ultimate nerd level. Harry Potter really had been the only thing that he had read and mostly because Mili had told him that he needed to. He usually kept it to himself though. At least he hadn’t read the stupid Twilight books. He watched her turn around knowing that even if she was going to leave she would back.
His smirk widened when she turned back to him thinking to himself how that was fast. ‘You’re the only girl I see Katey Bell’ Ok that was a total lie. There was a hot brunette in the corner that kept eyeing him and he had already mentally undressed her three or four times. He figured when Kate left for good he would go and work his magic on the unsuspecting victim. His goal was to get laid and he knew it wasn’t going to happen with Kate. Before Mav could protest she had taken his drink and gulped almost half of it down before handing it back to him. He shrugged not really even knowing himself. ‘If you don’t like it then don’t drink it. It wasn’t as if I said here Kate try this delicious drink.’ Even if it had been delicious he wouldn’t have offered her some. She had boobs meaning she didn’t have to pay a cover charge for booze. He on the other hand had to fork out some of his hard earned money to be able to drink tonight. ‘I taste fantastic thank you very much.’ Ok he didn’t know how he tasted, but he figured he couldn’t really taste that bad. | [atrb=width,100]words ,458 tagged ,katey-bell outfit ,herenotes ,psh noooo |

Much less putting words to what she was feeling... and maybe feeling to her words? She didn't know, nor did she care. She wasn't good at words, or at least that's what she thought. She didn't realize she could easily manipulate people with a few words sometimes, she usually believed it was the flutter of her eyelashes and the swivel of her hips that convinced boys to get her a glass of water or do her homework. The seductive finger she'd trail down their chests while looking up at them through her curly eyelashes or the way she purred her words out while playing with her fingers lightly on the skin on their arms. She'd always relished in the way the nerds seemed to freeze up, or the cool boys' skin would give away how much they were affected as goose bumps spread over their skin. She'd never realized that her words helped just as much as her actions.
The one boy she'd never tried to get to fall for her charm, for reasons unknown even to herself, was standing in front of her now. And for other reasons unknown, she couldn't find it in herself to just turn around and walk away. It was probably that the party was so boring, something she'd never say out loud in fear of being pummeled to death by a certain Desiree Sinclair or maybe a Maya Jenkins. Truth be told, the constant going to parties was turning them into a monotonous experience for her and in front of her was now the key to making at least one of her evenings different. "I doubt that. Most things taste how they look and... You don't give off an 'I'm incredibly tasty' vibe." Her chin tilted up as she awaited the full-on conflict that would surely ensue from their conversation. It always did. And Kate loved it. Not that she'd ever tell Maverick unless she had a death wish by the hands of all her friends who hated Mav. "But honestly? I don't want to find out." With this sentence, she forced a disgusted sneer on her face, when she actually wanted to burst out laughing at the joy she was getting from the adrenaline bursting through her veins and maybe turning this night into a night she'd actually want to remember after waking up.
