COURSE OFFERINGS
The following groups are classes available at Manchester Preparatory Academy. Most teachers focus on one subject, though well experience teachers may choose to also run an elective class.
CORE SUBJECTS
Englishaside from core mandatory classes and core AP classes, classes includes Drama, World literature, Shakespeare, Fiction, and Poetry.
Languagetwo years mandatory for all students. offerings include Spanish, French, Italian, German, Latin, and Greek.
MathematicsOutside of the required Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, students must complete at least one of the following electives: Math Analysis Honors, Pre-Calculus, Calculus Honors, AP Calculus, Probability and Statistics
ScienceStudents are required to take three years of Science. The offerings include Science Research, Honors Physical Science, Biology Honors, AP Biology, Chemistry Honors, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Issues in Science and Society, Forensic Science, AP Environmental Science, AP Chemistry, AP Physics
Social ScienceStudents must take four units of Social Studies. Offerings include Global History I & II, Introduction to Sociology, US History and Government, Criminal Justice, AP Psychology, AP World History, AP American History, American Law and Justice, Introduction to Economics, Forensic Criminology, Contemporary World Issues, History of WWII, Constitutional Issues, AP US Government and Politics.
ReligionBecause Manchester is funded by a church organization, as is more private high schools, Religion 9 and Religion 10 are mandatory in the first two years of high school. After that, the following electives are available: Christian Service, Morality, Philosophy of Life, Faith: A Biblical Perspective, Sacred Art and Christianity, Social Justice, The Many Faces of Faith, Jesus and Film, Human Sexuality and Love.
