life
birth and babyhood
It was evident from the start of her life that Sparrow—or Ghost as she was nicknamed as a child—would be as weird as the name her parents gave her. She was born to Sunshine and Revolution Logan, a couple who legally changed their names as teenagers and got married in a field of wildflowers without any shoes on. They had their first daughter, Velvet Mystery, when they were only sixteen and nineteen and had their second child, Sparrow, almost ten years later. The second she was old enough to develop personality it was a rather weird one. Always telling elaborate stories, making friends out of imaginary fairies and inanimate objects. She meowed at people when she didn’t feel like talking to them and ate odd mixtures of food like melted vegan cheese on a popsicle. She spent most of her early years helping her parents protest and refusing the notion of school and being the good little flower child her parents wanted her to be.
her nickname
The nickname Ghost was given to Sparrow when she was only three years old. She had a habit of looking off into space and suddenly smiling and her parents always believed that she was looking at spirits. They would tell her lovely stories about ghost children and her fascination with the stories and habit of looking off into nowhere had them nicknaming her Ghost.
early childhood
Things shifted between being blissful and chaotic. The family was either completely at peace or completely at war. Sparrow’s parents drifted back into youthful habits of drugs and alcohol. Velvet spent most of her time raising her weird little sister because their parents couldn’t be bothered. They slipped and they slipped fast and hard. Drugs. Alcohol. Debt.
middle school
Sparrow always got teased in school but she quickly learned to turn it around on people and developed a fierceness for comebacks. When people bullied her she was always ready with a witty retort but was generally a pacifist. It usually didn’t escalate to actual violence. On the other hand Velvet was in her twenties by this point and making a rather big name for herself investing in stocks and building her own box company. She was work working at getting custody of her little sister, because a life with drug addicted hippies was not the kind of life for someone was impressionable and unique as Sparrow.
freshman year
It was tough for Sparrow because the custody battles started and she hated her school and the people in it. It wasn’t a very good time for her. Too many changes at once. But by the end of it things started looking up and she was now living with her successful and wealthy sister full time and Sparrow now looks forward to attending a new school.
