Complete chaos and crap. She was now at the bottom of the food chain where she figured she would have no chance of getting into Harvard from because she lost all of her contacts. And then on top of that her parents were getting divorced. Her whore of a mother had been cheating on her father for months now apparently. She thought that it had only been in the last month that it had started, but from the yelling she picked up that this affair had started last summer. So it had been a year. Now she was put in the horrible position of being an only child between parents fighting for custody. She was going to have to choose sides and even though she had always loved her mother, this greatly lowered her opinion and her respect for the woman. If and when it came up she would be staying with her dad. Sure he was gone a lot because of work, meaning she was in the big empty house all by herself, but he hadn’t done anything wrong. No use punishing him when it was not his fault at all. She agreed with him about getting the divorce. If she cheated once it was more likely that she would cheat again. No use keeping that around.
Jay was curled up in her bed, cuddling a bottle of wine. It had become her latest best friend. It was really the only thing she could go to right now. Well there was one other thing…person she could go to. Jax. He had been her best friend since they were born basically. She sighed taking another sip from the wine bottle. He should already be here by now. She had convinced the boy that he needed to move in with her, if only for the week. She would work on convincing him to permanently move in soon enough. It wasn’t as if he liked being home and she hated being in the big house on her own. Plus her dad loved him anyways. It would be perfect. Just had to convince him that she wasn’t going to get tired of him. She could never get tired of him. Her first argument would be it would be practice for Boston. Jay took another sip of the wine with a small smile. Ya that should work. | [atrb=width,140]words ,398 tagged ,jax outfit ,clickynotes ,best friends for life no matter what | [cs=2] |

Although his problems weren't nearly as bad as his best friend's, he still was having a rough time, unable to shake the feeling of being utterly disappointed. He thought he had finally found happiness, figured it all out, fallen in love even, with Chase. He had put it all on their line - their years of friendship - just to test the waters of a possible romance between them. It had all been going great, at least that's what Jax had thought. But whenever something goes good for Jax, it barely ever lasts. Their downfall occurred due to the fact that Chase was furious that Jax had run away with Jay; Chase had grown unbelievably jealous, convinced that something was going on between the two of them. Jax was not able to convince Chase of the ridiculousness of this assumption, and that was when she decided to cut it all off: their romance and their friendship.
It was hard. Of course, Jax had dealt with even worse loss before this, when Lily died a few years ago. But he just would never grow accustomed to losing someone he thought would never leave him. The end of the relatioinship had left Jax lonely and a bit depressed, and he had locked himself up in his room for the past week, an act which was very typical of a saddened Jaxton. He liked to be alone with his thoughts, untrusting of the world beyond his bedroom walls. The world had never really done any good for him.
The only good it had ever given him was Jay. His best friend had convinced him to leave the doldrums of his bedroom and spend time with her, where the two of them could wallow in their sadness or attempt to forget their problems, whichever they felt like. The boy's bedhead revealed his current unenthusiasm for life. He ran his hand through the mess that was his hair as he shoved the key that Jay had given him into the hole, opening the door and stumbling inside the gigantic house. "Jay?" the boy called into the house as he made his way toward her room. His voice echoed off the walls of the empty hallways. In a matter of seconds he was in her doorway, and a goofy grin illuminated his features for the first time in days at the sight of her Batman socks, the wine. "I hope you have more of that stuff. And I must say, those are great socks." He set a medium-sized suitcase on the ground. It was full of a few things he would need to move into Jay's; a lot of his stuff was already here, and he had been too sick of his room to spend too long packing.[/style] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: #423c42;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] It really was amazing how close Jax and Jay were. Jay couldn’t help but think of when they were kids and how they would talk about growing up. And now they were grown up, only two years off of moving away. And through it all he had always been the one next to her side. He was the first person outside of her family that she trusted. He was the one that she told all of her secrets to at age five. Although then her secrets were things like the cool secret hiding place she found in the basement of about her first crush in kindergarten. Ya Jax had always been her best friend and would always be by her side and she knew that through all of this he was going to be there right by her side. Mostly because they both needed each other. Her parents had been his parents since his real parents were kind of just a failure at their job. So during their childhood Jax spent all of his time at their household. Her mom would make them pancakes, her dad would take Jax out to do boy things while Jay was forced to practice for dumb pageants. Her mom would always make comments about how the two of them would grow up and get married which was easily returned with faces of disgust and retorts about how they were practically related. Yep, Jax was practically her brother. That was it. That was all it ever had been and what she was pretty sure it ever would be.
Jay rolled over in her bed when she heard her best friend’s voice. ‘There is a whole cellar so of course I do.’ She smirked as she took another long swig from the bottle. ‘Dad got them for me in Vegas. Just got them yesterday. He got you something too.’ Jay turned back over and opened her drawer as she pulled out a pair of Batman boxers that her dad had bought for his favorite son. ‘He said tell Jax sorry if he hates Batman because this is what he’s getting and he can’t truly be a part of the family if he doesn’t love Batman on some level.’ Leave it to her dad to try and act like everything was normal. She threw the boxers at Jax hoping he would catch them. ‘Now get in bed mister.’ Jay needed some serious cuddle time and she needed it with her best friend. Ya she was definitely glad that he was here. | [atrb=width,140]words ,424 tagged ,jax outfit ,clickynotes ,they are so cute! | [cs=2] |

When he thought about it, there really was nothing left for Jax in his childhood home. Sure, it was a depressing thought, and of course it tugged on his heartstrings, but there was no denying the truth. His parents had stopped caring about their second oldest son the moment he got his first D.U.I., and the string of misdemenors and probation officers that followed in the next few months contributed to the dissolving relationship between Jaxton and his parents. They were ashamed of him, ashamed that he had followed in the footsteps of his older brother, ashamed that their son would ultimately amount to nothing. On the other hand, no matter what shit Jax got himself into, Jay's parents had always been there for him. They never judged him, and they always welcomed him with open arms. That's what a real family was like; of this Jaxton was sure. He didn't know what he would have done without them.
The boy's dark eyebrows raised a bit after learning that Jay's father had gotten him a present as well. "Oh? Your dad's such a nice guy. What do I get?" His curious gaze followed her movements, watching as she opened a drawer to reveal just the right gift to raise Jaxton's spirits. "Holy shit!" He laughed out loud, closing the space between the two of them by approaching the bed. A grin lit up his face as he sat on the edge of the mattress, taking the Batman boxers in his hands and holding them up, examining his gift. "Oh my god, I love it, this is perfect," he said, turning his gaze to his best friend once again. "Are you kidding me? I fucking love Batman. I just saw the new movie a few weeks ago." He did not feel the need to mention that Chase had accompanied him. And Jax had paid. Over twenty-five dollars for two tickets and a large popcorn. Fucking ridiculous. But he wasn't thinking about that right now. "This is the best present I have ever gotten. Literally. I love your dad. I just... I'm so stoked right now." His voice was sincere.
Jaxton adjusted himself, letting his skinny body fall backwards onto the bed with a satisfied sigh. Obediently, he snuggled close to Jay, and he found himself feeling relieved as he realized that he was already starting to feel better. The gift still sat in his lap. "So, like, we should get drunk. And I want to put on these Batman boxers and dance around like a fucking weirdo. I think that's exactly what I need right now. Let me have a sip." He held out his hand.[/style] |
