life
andrew is the black sheep of the family and has suffered from middle child syndrome the majority of his life. he knows that his family loves him but they have a funny way of showing it and he really doesn't appreciate it. he tries to make it easier for them, doing things they would be proud of, but his brother's actions and even his sister always seem to do something that steals their attention away from him.
when they were younger he was always the one to blame if they got caught doing something they shouldn't have. he was an easy target out of the five of them, he looked like he didn't belong. his hair was a lot darker than the others and once or twice his siblings even claimed not to know him in public. the jokes about being adopted or a distant cousin come to stay grew old very fast and he spent more of his time hiding away in his room with a good book rather than being the crash test dummy for their pranks and jokes.
when they moved to maryland, things seemed to change for the family. his oldest brother became even more successful and his second oldest brother seemed to rebel more than ever. he saw the way his parents looked at the two of them and aspired to be more like his oldest brother. the only thing he was really good at was making his grandma smile so he decided to venture down the path of nursing. old people weren't so judgmental and seemed to like him more than other people tended to so it seemed like a wise career choice. it was difficult to get the grades and be accepted into college for nursing and after pushing himself (at the cost of remaining a nobody in high school), he managed to be accepted into the course.
unfortunately for him, he's overlooked even at college. his class is full of overachievers and do-gooders and his list of extra charity work and community service is nothing compared to his peers. he's signed up to do a whole lot of volunteer work and slowly trying to make himself appear just as hard working and successful as his brother. he still tends to hide away in his room when his siblings are around but mostly because of the company they bring home. they make him feel like he's back at high school again and his blushing isn't exactly subtle. he's working up his courage one step at a time but he's sticking with the old people at the nursing home for now.
