[style= width: 300px; height: 255px; padding: 15px; overflow: auto; font-size: 9px; text-align: justify;]Natalie needed to rid herself of the stress caused by school starting up again. She didn't want to deal with the first day and not knowing who was going to be in her classes, especially since she had been put on that hotties list. Already she was losing sleep and they still had a few weeks to go. The best way to relieve back to school stress? The beach, of course. Maryland had surprisingly nice beaches, so she called her friend Alani and asked to meet up. She didn't want to do much, just lay out and chat.
If there was anyone Natalie felt blessed to meet, it was Alani. They were both going into their sophomore year and very similar. They weren't enough the same to clash personalities, but similar enough to get along perfectly. They actually met through the hotties list. When it was put up, girls were either walking away with a grin and their heads held high or very, very angry. Natalie, however, was a nervous wreck. Why was she on the list? She didn't talk to any of the people that would have been pretentious enough to make it. Those were the type of people she avoided. She didn't want to be someone's arm-candy (especially now that she had met Jason Walker) and she certainly didn't want to advertise the fact that she was "hot." She didn't even want to be "hot," just pretty. Most of all, she didn't want to attend parties. The whole thing was panic attack waiting to happen. The only other girl that seemed to be freaking out about being on the list was Alani. They related to each other and quickly became close friends. If they stuck together during the school year, Natalie would easily call Alani her best friend.
Alani had accepted the invitation to be a hottie, though. Natalie didn't mind, she honestly though it would be great for Alani to meet people and break out of her shell. She didn't want her friend to remain as closed off and unsocial as she was. It was just that Natalie didn't want Alani to drift away from her.
Natalie spread out her towel and laid out in the sun. For being Latina, she didn't tan too easy. She was oddly pale, but she didn't mind too much. She just liked to get a little color and proceeded in doing so while she waited for Alani.
