[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 340px; padding-top:10px;](i've got to leave) sitting in her math class audrey's mind was elsewhere. she had already finished this lesson last week so she wasn't worried about falling behind or not understanding it. most of the people in her class were either looking at the board confused or whispering to each other about how they didn't understand what was going on. not that she blamed them because they happened to have a horrible teacher who just assumed they always knew what he was talking about. that was the reason the class average was so low, not because it was a college level class, but because the teacher was inadequate. audrey was more focused on how she was going to cram everything she had to do today in such a short time period. she was constantly overloading herself with work to keep herself busy so she could make her college application one of the best that they had. she wasn't going to be able to afford college unless she got a scholarship and she was aiming for a full one. with that type of scholarship she could go anywhere she wanted and she wanted to get as far away from here as possible. before she knew it the bell rang and everyone was on their way out of the classroom. but before she could make an exit the teacher called her over asking for a favor.
it wasn't that audrey was trying to be a teachers pet she just honestly couldn't bring herself to refuse a request when she was asked by one. most teachers knew that and they ended up taking advantage of her not that she normally minded. if she could be a help to them than she would do her best. except this current request was a little more than she could handle. her arms were full of folders and books that the teacher asked her to bring upstairs to a classroom. she was walking slowly and carefully not wanting to trip and end up dropping them all over the hall. the stack was so high she couldn't really see in front of her so she had to attempt to look over at the side. she was just hoping that everyone else was paying attention while they were walking so they would avoid the huge stack of walking papers in their way.
humming to herself she was almost down the hall about to turn when she bumped into someone walking. to her horror everything that she was holding instantly dropped to the ground along with herself. she just sat there in shock for a moment before she began to start apologizing. "i'm sorry, i couldn't see where i was going" she said with a sigh not even bothering to look up as she began picking up the papers. this was the very moment when she felt like such a stereotypical nerd you saw in the movies. walking around with more than they could handle and ending up getting themselves embarrassed in front of everyone. now all she needed was the thick rimmed glasses and it would be perfect. shaking her head in disappointment she continued to gather the papers wishing that she could by anywhere but here. this was the kind of thing that would never happen to ade because she would never bother trying to get on a teachers good side. even if she did audrey was sure that she would have some guy to carry it for her. audrey on the other hand rarely ever even spoke to guys the only one she normally had contact with was johnny. tag: open word count: 598 notes this kinda sucks xD |

Usually when he worked in the library--a place that is supposed to be silent--there was constant chattering and whatnot amongst students, which made getting work done that needed to be done a bit difficult. But, Drew was a good worker no matter what the case so it didn't bother him much. Other than if he was in a talkative mood--which occurred most of the time--then it was harder for him to concentrate on his studies. Especially if it was a good friend.
Currently, he was in the library every day for a "free period." During this time, he could work on other classes, study, or basically do whatever as long as he wasn't goofing off and didn't leave the school. See, because Drew was such a good young man and excelled at everything academic, he was given opportunities like these free periods. Plus, he was a senior and didn't have anything else to take at this time. He had talked it over with his parents and the dean and it was okayed. If anything, the boy figured it couldn't hurt to have an extra hour in the day to higher his grade percentages. Colleges and universities had already been contacting him for a while, offering him scholarships and everything--not that he really needed a full scholarship. Nobody at school knew it, but Drew's parents made lots of money doing what they were doing. Not that the family was extremely wealthy or anything, but they definitely made off fairly well. However, even though Mom and Dad offered to buy Drew a car and whatnot, he wouldn't take it. He wanted to be able to pay for things on his own.
Today, he had managed to get ahead on a lot of his classes, which was very good. When the bell rang, he grabbed his stuff and calmly made his way to the door. "Same time tomorrow, Rosie," he said, giving a wave and a smirk at the librarian. She just shook her head at him and waved him off. Drew smiled to himself, thinking it was funny how he was on a first name basis with the school librarian. He headed toward his locker so he could drop his books off and grab the ones for his next class. Once he got there, he yanked it open, set his books inside, and pulled out his French book. Then, he slammed the door shut and headed in the direction of his class.
He was about to round the corner when he heard someone call his name. He turned his head and waved back at them, a smile on his face. Suddenly, a stack of papers came at him and he completely ran into it and whoever was carrying the stack. He was pushed back a little ways, but wasn't taken to the floor. Andrew watched as papers floated slowly around him and down to the floor. He followed one down and noticed a girl. "i'm sorry, i couldn't see where i was going," she said as she picked up the papers. She had dark hair. He couldn't tell who she was though. He quickly bent down in front of her and set his stuff on the floor. "Nah, it's fine it's my fault," he told her and started helping her pick up the scattered papers. [/style] |
