[/style]
arms full of paper bags, savannah shoved her shoulder into the door of her apartment and it popped open, already left slightly cracked from her sister's entrance. almost not noticing the typical harebrained thing, savannah immediately called out, "i'm home!" her tone was cheerful; sav was excited that her sister was over, and even more excited that saul was coming over to meet her. brooke's presence wasn't too uncommon, as she was often switching residences between boyfriends and friends and often crashed at savannah's. sav set the bags down on the kitchen counter, pulling her sunglasses off with her now free hands and setting them down with her keys. the excitement was there, but it was within the anxiety. she was nervous about brooke meeting saul. of course she wanted her sister to like him. and there was also that little detail she had left out - the student side of things. savannah tried not to think about it as something bad anymore, though it was still something she tried not to linger on and was content in saying that he had graduated now and it didn't matter anymore.
in fact, that particular part of her life had been plaguing her. savannah felt uncomfortable with teaching now. she didn't blame saul for any part of it at all - but sav did feel as if her relationship with saul had been a sort of turning point in her life. teaching hadn't been enough lately - grading papers and tutoring had been boring her, and she found herself lacking the usual passion she enjoyed in teaching. it had been troubling her, and sav didn't really know who to talk to about it. savannah sighed and glanced over her shoulder, where the doorway to the living room was, and glanced at the clock. saul would be showing up any time.
