life
You probably hadn't recognized the name Cameron Sutton before this past summer. Well, you could probably match a name to a face, but you probably didn't think much of him other than that film-geek with two younger siblings that was always home for dinner. Yes, Cameron lived a fairly quiet, simple life through most of his school years under the same roof as two fairly affluent parents and two siblings for which he is responsible for looking after. His mother being heavily involved with the planning of the Sundance Film Festival year after year, and his father being a decently successful director, it's no surprise the kid knew what he wanted to do with his life from a young age. He loves movies, and it's always been a big part of his life. Hence, you probably saw his face behind that stupid little flip cam he carries around more than those pretty blue eyes of his. That is... until this past July, when one Cameron Sutton uploaded a new profile picture from his family's vacation. He was significantly taller, quite a bit more filled out, somehow he had gotten that horribly pallid skin to tan, and that's right, he had gotten handsome. The kid always hovered in-between with a good group of friends and no invites to parties, but he was always happy doing so. On the contrary, he didn't really know what he was missing in living the popular life. Until that fateful profile pic with the dashing smile and the charmingly funny tagline. So now he was getting attention from higher ranks of the social ladder... if you lived a quiet, family-valued, film-obsessed life, you'd probably think you were getting pretty popular too, wouldn't you?
roleplaying sample
He had been invited to a party this Saturday night. This was unheard of in itself. But perhaps more unheard of was the fact that he wasn't going. Irish by blood and curious by nature, Cam liked the taste of beer, and as a seventeen year old boy, liked the idea of smiling girls even more, but tonight he had to sacrifice his newfound social life for a taste of his old... He had promised Harley a movie night, after all. His friend had been harassing him day, night, virtually, and in person, as well, both for a Tarantino-fest as well as every miniscule detail about the kiss he had shared with Trina (the sole thought of whom made him flush). And, while he would frankly and admittedly prefer spending more time at parties than rewatching Kill Bill for the umpteenth time (no disrespect to Quentin intended), he was quite afraid of the physical prowess he knew Harley hid with her small frame... She was heavy into martial arts, after all. Alas and alack, he was sprawled out on his couch at home, his tall build hardly contained between either armrest, letting his arm slump against the floor in boredom as he focused on where he could be -- that beach bonfire -- versus where he currently resided -- awaiting that fashionably late friend of his to come bursting through the door of his humble abode. Cameron sighed as he slid his phone from his pocket, impatiently letting his slender fingers run rampant across the keypad. 'Hurry up! The Reservoir Dogs are barking!' Amused with himself, though it was arguable whether he should be, he smirked, letting the phone rest against his chest before setting his blue gaze on the wall clock once more.
