Giovanni grew up an only child of two of OC's most successful natives and residents. His mother is a therapist that found success in a series of self-help books that became a best selling series. She used her success to become a motivational speaker, and gives at least one presentation to OC community college every year. His father found his success by starting his career off teaching history at OC high, his Alma mater, and continuing his education at OC community college. Eventually he got his doctorate in Anthropology and became an archaeologist. He went on a few excavations and came back with many profitable finds in ancient artifacts and jewelry, some of which he somehow managed to keep for his own personal collection.
Though it sounds as if their careers took time away from them raising their son, they actually spent quality time together and still to this day have a good relationship. Giovanni has travelled the world by tagging along with both his mother and father whenever their careers took them someplace new. He was given everything he's ever asked for, never taking no as an answer. His mother and father felt that his ambition was admirable for someone so young and they enrolled him in programs that allowed him to use his drive in a positive way. There were mock government programs, FBLA type programs, the local youth soccer team, and they even managed to get him a small role in OC’s local newspaper where he wrote a few articles and still does today.
When he entered high school, he was instantly accepted into the popular crowd. His parent’s national and local fame mixed with his own ambition and charisma made him into one of the few likable popular students in the school. He quickly got involved in the student government during his freshman year and has been ever since currently serving as Manchester’s treasurer and splitting time as spokesperson. He has high hopes of serving as president during his senior year and is already making preparations to take over a full year in advance. He also works double time as the editor of the school paper, all whilst maintaining a 4.0 GPA and keeping up with a very (un)healthy social life. Yeah, this kid works hard, but he can play much, much harder. A prime example of this was during his sophomore year when one of his article in the local newspaper was considered one of the most well written articles of the year and he submitted the article to a national contest and placed second. Instead of celebrating coming in second, he literally threw a party out of spite for "losing" the contest which lead to a night where he was pulled over for swerving. When the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle for a breathalyzer, Giovanni allegedly spat at the officer, cussed him out and threatened to have the man relieved of his duties before putting his car in reverse, hitting the officer's car and then speeding off and nearly hitting the officer as well. The only reason he wasn't arrested was because the officer just happened to be a friend of his father's and felt that Giovanni's father could discipline the boy instead. Instead, Giovanni just threw another party in celebration of getting away with it all.
