So that person up there can be boy or girl, it is really up to you because Heathcliff hits both ways haha. I was thinking the character could have been in the army; in the mission in which Heathcliff unit was captured. She/he was supposed to go along but got injured the day before they were supposed to leave, so he/she stayed behind. They had both been very close, one of those unspoken relationships where they both know they love each other but due to the dangerous life they live they want to stay a bit away.

So, once Heath was gone, and when he was captured it broke he/she's heart but due to the line of duty there was little time to feel bad about it. He/she continued to follow the report of their search party close, but since he/she was deployed to another mission he/she didn't heard that they had rescued Heathcliff until now. So what I want to happen is to have them reunited. Like, he/she found out Heath was at Maryland so after packing some bags and buying a plane ticket he/she comes to meet him. I think it would be a very emotional encounter, like he/she could just show up at his house and Heath will be thrilled and happy for the first time since he was rescued. He didn't try to find he/she because he was too wrapped up with his life being a chaos. But I think he/she could be the one who causes Heath to open up and slowly move on and be happy. They can have some issues here and there due to him drinking so much, and them adapting to starting a relationship. He/she could help him realize he doesn't belong working as a cook bur rather in the police force or back at the army. We can add up some drama here and there but he/she will be his romantic interest. n.n

As far as personality goes, the only thing is she/he needs to be though, he/she needs to be able to roll with the punches -not literally of course, or a little during the missions- and he/she needs to love sports, because Heath loves being outdoors. That's about it, any questions please let me know!

OMG This is so cute! Like if I weren't stocked up on charries and busy all the time, I would totally take this. But sadly, I am. :( Like someone needs to take this so I can stalk every thread ever because this plot is adorable. :D
