[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK, COME ON LET YOUR COLORS BURST. The Words: 629 The Outfit: click The Notes oh, a starter post .-. a petite red headed girl shuffled into the library, closing the door carefully behind her. many people knew the girl as madison, a prep. however, she had to study just like everyone else, and so, here she was. believe it or not, the freshman was a very hard worker and wanted to be the best student she could be here in her first year at manchester. though she didn't particularlly like being seen here in the library hanging out with all the nerds, she had to do what she had to do. plus, some of the nerds actually turned out to be very nice people, so madison tolerated them.
setting her grey designer bag on one of the tables that was set up around the library, the freshman walked slowly over to the shelves, examining the books curiously. she wasn't looking for anything too specific.. just something to gain some knowledge and information from. you could never know too much, right?
running her fingers along the spines of several books, madison picked out a few with the titles of "all you ever wanted to know about history" and "the fundamentals of earth sience". she held these books in her hands and continued to walk around in search of other interesting books. certainly two books was not enough to check out at once. plus, she was itching to find something a bit more interesting, and more into the classes she enjoyed.. perhaps she'd find a german book, or something of the like. madison had always enjoyed german class. in fact, she'd once visited germany with her rich parents and had loved every minute of it. germany was a gorgeous country, with fine cuisines, music, and many other things. it was a beautiful place to stay, and madison had picked up quite a bit of the language from the germans. she spoke rather advanced german now, and absolutely loved it. other languages were so very amusing and wonderful.. surely they'd have to have a book involving the german language here somewhere.
walking over to the shelf of books that were dedicated to the language department, she scanned the shelves for anything german. eventually, she found an orange book with the title of "everything german". she snatched it up and turned back towards the table that she'd set her bag on, but, in this process, her hip bumped the row of books and each book fell off of the shelf, almost like dominos. a loud noise was heard through out the library as each hard cover book hit the ground. the girl wasn't sure if she really wanted to look, but she had been the clutz who had knocked them over. turning slowly to look back at the shelf to see how much damage had truly been done, her brown eyes widened when she saw some fifty books scattered on the ground.
letting out a sigh, madison set the three books she'd picked down on her table, then walked quickly over to the pile of books on the ground and began picking them up and placing them back on the shelf. this was no fun or easy task, but she needed to get all of those books back before someone came over and saw the mess she'd made. surely that would leave a bit of a mark on her reputation. she'd be labels as a clutz, or possibly even a nerd for having stepped foot in the library. oh, could this day get any worse? she wondered, scrambling to pick up the books. the last thing she wanted was to be kicked out of the preps because she'd knocked over a shelf of books.. but, yea. in reality, the cliques here at manchester were that bad, as sad as it seemed. |

He was on first name basis with the librarian and basically knew every book they owned. Or at least where it'd be at. Right now since he was a senior at Manchester, he had received the opportunity to be in there every day on a free period. During this time, he could basically do whatever he wanted as long as he behaved and stayed in the building. Of course, behaving was not a problem for Drew in school. In fact, he rarely misbehaved. Ever. He was a well-manored young man and always has been.
Unlike most days, he was completely exhausted after staying up too late the previous night. And what was he up for of all things? To work ahead a chapter in his college algebra class he was taking. What a stupid decision. He had already been ahead one chapter and just figured he'd go further because he could, basically. Wrong move on his part. He could hardly get himself out of bed and out the door. Usually, he was up bright and early, washed, dressed and had enough time to eat something before he went off to school. Today, he was lucky his shirt wasn't on backwards and his hair looked somewhat decent. He also had to wear his glasses because he didn't have time to put his contacts in, which made him look more nerdy. Drew rarely ever wore them because he didn't have to, so he got a lot of weird looks from people. As if they didn't already assume he had glasses. But it wasn't that he didn't like their Clark-Kent style, because he very much did, it was just that he didn't want to give people a reason to torment him. He managed to stay away from the bullying for the most part, but every once in a while, a jock would attempt to push him around. Sometimes Andrew ended up getting punched, but only because he stood up to them and gave them crap right back, and they didn't like it. He didn't care though.
After a while of not being able to concentrate on his history assignment, he finally decided to find a good spot in the library to take a nap. He certainly felt he had the right--after all, they didn't call it a free period for nothing right? And it wasn't like he was leaving the building either. So, Drew walked past some bookshelves until he car to the back wall of the library, turned and went to the corner so he was well hidden from Rosie, the librarian. He crawled his way down and cozied up to the floor. For being as solid as it was, it was pretty comfy to someone who hadn't gotten his full eight hours of sleep last night.
Just as he was about to fall asleep, wham, he heard something smack into the bookshelf and suddenly books toppled endlessly to the floor. Drew sighed and rolled his eyes. The senior sat up and peered through an open space in the bookshelf and spotted the klutz who had knocked all the books down. She had bright red hair and deep brown eyes. She looked startled and embarrassed as she bent down and started putting the books back. Feeling bad for her, Drew army-crawled around the bookshelf just enough to poke his head out. "Ya know, some people are trying to sleep here," he said teasingly. Then he grinned and winked at the girl playfully. "I suppose I could help you out," Drew said as he shuffled over to her on his knees. Then he began helping her lift the books up back into their rightful places.[/style][/style]template made by v[ee] for vendetta?! of btn.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK, COME ON LET YOUR COLORS BURST. The Words: 625 The Outfit: click The Notes c: still fumbling with the books, she glanced over her shoulder and sighed with relief that she was out of view of the librarian. at least that way she wouldn't have some old grouch yelling at her as well. she already felt bad enough that she knocked over the entire book shelf. she checked the spines of the books to make sure they were alright, and most of them looked decent, so she shoved them back into place quickly.
as she was doing this, she saw a head peek around the book shelf to look at her. she ignored him for a short moment, too embarassed to speak. however, when he began talking to her, the girl stopped and glanced at him. he was your typical nerd, glasses and all, chilling in the library.. or as it seemed, sleeping in the library. madison, as a prep, knew most of the student body, including the guy that stood on his knees before her. he was a senior, and commonly called drew. she hadn't heard very much about him, as she didn't typically center her focus on the nerds. but, behind the glasses, he seemed almost.. adorable. shaking the thought off, she smirked, "Well, perhaps the library isn't the ideal spot to take a nap." she said, bending down to pick up another book before she heard his next offer. glancing at him, she wondered why he would be so kind to her.. she was used to the royals trying to poke and prod at her every move. but drew seemed to be nice enough, and he had offered to help her, so why in the world would she reject him? "That would be awesome, thank you." she answered, holding in a giggle as he shuffled to the pile of books on his knees.
as the girl had said before, she hadn't heard much about this drew guy, and she wasn't sure how to respond to him. well, he was a nerd, and that part she had down. perhaps socializing with him would drop her scale on the clique totem pole. whatever. he's only helping me pick up these books. how can that effect anything? she told herself, sliding a few more books onto the shelf. madison realized that she should be more thankful for his help, not unpleased about his social status. what kind of diva was she becoming? after all, if he hadn't offered to help, this pile of books would have taken absolutely forever to get back onto the shelf. at least now it went a little quicker. plus, it was always good to meet new people, right? so here she was, meeting a new person. maybe he'd turn out to be one of those cool nerds. cool and nerd just don't seem to go together. the girl thought to herself, but shook off the thoughts. just be thankful for his help. she told herself again, becoming a tiny bit more at ease to the fact that she was socializing with a nerd through her pep talk with her self.
glancing over at him, she shoved a few more books in their spot and looked him over quickly. she thought that she had seen him around before, but without his glasses. he must have contacts, or something. the freshman could imagine he looked even more attractive without his glasses on. what am i thinking? he's a nerd. and a senior. she told herself, turning her gaze back to the huge pile of books in front of her and quickly pushing them back onto the shelf. she was just happy that she didn't have to do this all on her own, and that the librarian hadn't seen her. though this certainly wasn't the perfect start to her morning. |

She looked completely and utterly embarrassed to have caused so much commotion, but so would any other normal person. Maybe besides Drew. He didn't really care that much about what people thought of him. If he would've been in her situation he probably would've came up with some funny comment or something of the sort. But that was just the type of person he was. As he awaited a response--she was still staring him down--Drew tried to figure out who she was. Most would think he'd recognize someone right away with hair as bright red as hers, but unfortunately he did not. Perhaps she was new, or maybe she was a freshman or something and he hadn't seen or around enough to know her name. After she spoke, he thought about her words for a second. "I don't know. It's quiet and comfortable and I'm sure over half these books could put a person to sleep, so it's actually a very ideal place in my book," he countered he with a grin. When she accepted his offer, he bowed to her as if she was royalty and said, "My pleasure, ma' lady." With that, he began stacking books along with her and placing them in their correct spots on the shelf.
After a moment, the girl fell silent again. She seemed to be thinking to herself by the expressions that were all over her face. So, Drew took the liberty of introducing himself. "Well, I'm Drew, Andrew for long, never Andy. Last name's Ross if you'd like to know," he told her, shoving three books into their rightful places. "What's your name?" he asked since she didn't seem to be planning on giving out any information to him otherwise. By the looks of how she was dressed, she looked like someone in the popular crowd. It would definitely make sense as to why she wasn't responding much to him. Populars usually didn't associate with neutrals, especially nerds like Drew. The senior hated the clique system here at Manchester, but there really was no way around it because so many students revolved around the cliques. Oh well, soon they'd realize outside high school, the real world didn't care about who you hung out with in high school.
This girl looked a bit young to already be acting snooty and stuck up, although, a lot of the freshmen and sophomores followed the guidelines of the cliques super close so they wouldn't get knocked down. After all, who would want to be knocked down when they were already so high up on the food chain? Of course Drew didn't understand any of it because it didn't matter to him whatsoever, but lots of others at Manchester Prep cared. A lot. "Look, I know what you're thinking. You're worried about being seen with me, am I right?" Drew asked blatantly. "You're in the popular crowd right? And obviously I am not, people know that and you must too." His chocolate brown eyes watched her, waiting for her to say something. He sighed. "Go on, I can finish putting these away," he said, grabbing a few more books and stacking them on the shelf. Drew wished the clique system didn't have to govern everyone's life so much at this place; it was horrible. Then without looking, he reached for one of the last books, hoping to find it and the couple of others and be done so he could get back to his nap. Usually, Drew loved socializing, no matter who it was, but this girl seemed to be so deep in thought, there wasn't much socializing going on.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK, COME ON LET YOUR COLORS BURST. The Words: 645 The Outfit: click The Notes don't worry, my post wasn't much better. x3 broken out of her thoughts as the boy beside her began to speak, madison shoved another book into it's place and shrugged, "Well, I suppose when there aren't any clutzes around, it's a perfect place to sleep." she said with a smirk, referring to herself. the freshman was not one of those populars who thought she was almighty and above everyone else, and would willingly admit that the show she'd just put on had given her full rights to be called a clutz. but, that didn't matter much to her at this point. all she wanted to do was get these books back onto the shelf and get back to studying before anyone else saw the disaster she had created.. oh, what an interesting day this was shaping out to be. i mean, here madison was, talking to a nerd. maybe i shouldn't think of him as a nerd. he's a human being just like everyone else. she thought to herself.
as drew told her that it would be his pleasure to help her, the prep couldn't help but grin. his choice of words was so very entertaining to the girl, and she was forced to hold in another giggle. she'd already disturbed the library enough, without busting into a fit of giggles. plus, she didn't want to offend him in anyway.. after all, he was helping her, and the last thing she wanted to do was offend him or scare him off.
hearing his introduction, the girl turned to him and nodded, "I'm Madison.. Madi occasionally, and my last name is Rivard." she explained to him, realizing that the boy probably had no idea who she was, considering that she was a freshman. perhaps it would be helpful to shoot that little piece of information out as well. ".. I'm also a freshman, if you're wondering why you haven't seen me around much." the girl explained, wondering exactly what grade drew was in. she knew that he was older, considering he certainly wasn't in her grade. however, she wasn't sure exactly how old. sophomore? junior? senior?
reaching back for another book, the girl slid it into place and let out a sigh of relief when she realized that only a few books remained on the floor. with drew's help, the task had seemed rather quick and easy. she'd be sure to thank him when they'd finished, and then she could go back to studying her books on german, history, and earth seince. madison was very determined to get a head start on her freshman year, and studying was a good way to do that.
glancing up as drew began to speak again, madison was astonished to hear what he had to say. though his words were somewhat along the lines of what she'd been thinking, she realized that she needed to shape up her attitude a bit. "No.. I mean, yes, I'm in the popular crowd. But that doesn't mean that I'm as shallow as everyone else." she said, attempting to pick her words carefully as she looked into his brown eyes. "But hey, I'm the one that knocked over these books, so it's my responsibility to pick them up. Though your help is much appreciated." she said quickly, not wanting to sound ungrateful. "And plus, you seem like a really nice guy, and whatever clique you're in doesn't change that." she continued to ramble on, not wanting to miss a single detail of how she was feeling. the freshman badly wanted drew to know that she wasn't as snobby as the rest of the popular crowd. though she did have her qualities, she wasn't a total bitch. "Anyways, I planned on staying here awhile to study.. Perhaps you'd like to join me?" she offered slowly, not sure if drew would like to study with her. after all, didn't he have some sleep to catch up on?

"Absolutely! You don't get caught, it's quiet, and nobody bothers you. Although, you could've blown my hiding place by knocking over all these books," he said to her. The nerd continued to stack books along side her, glancing at her from time to time. He tried to figure out who she was, but he didn't recognize her whatsoever. She has to be a freshman, he thought to himself, shaking the thought from his head.
Drew really liked her smile. He made a lot of people laugh, so he knew what it looked like when someone was about to let out a few giggles. But she seemed to be holding it back. "You know, you don't have to hold back. If you wanna laugh at me go right ahead," he said with a smile. When he made people smile and laugh it warmed his heart and made him extremely happy. He loved making people's day because in turn it made his day better. "I'm Madison.. Madi occasionally, and my last name is Rivard," she introduced herself after him. The brunette nodded briefly and then she added, ".. I'm also a freshman, if you're wondering why you haven't seen me around much." "Well that explains a lot. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why I didn't recognize you and now I know why. I'm a senior here and I'm good at remembering faces," he said. It was true. Andrew never really forgot a face and was pretty good at putting a name to a face. Sometimes it took him a little while, but he figured it out eventually.
Drew's small "confrontation" seemed to have made her realize the way she was acting toward him because she changed almost completely. "No.. I mean, yes, I'm in the popular crowd. But that doesn't mean that I'm as shallow as everyone else," Madison told him. The senior nodded slowly, making his mouth a thin line and looking at the book titles but not really reading them. A really nice guy. Yeah, he got that a lot. Drew already knew he was a nice guy and he didn't need some freshman telling him the same thing every other girl told him. Not that girls didn't like him, that wasn't it at all. It was just girls from the popular crowd. They liked to tease him in a sense; flirt with him and whatnot, and he was getting to the point where he was getting sick of it.
"Yeah I try," he shrugged putting another book on the shelf. "Anyways, I planned on staying here awhile to study.. Perhaps you'd like to join me?" she asked him. Drew thought about it for a little while. He scratched the back of his neck and ran a hand through his hair. "Um, I'm pretty tired still, but I guess I could join you for a little bit. Why not," he said, taking up her offer. [/style][/style]template made by v[ee] for vendetta?! of btn.
