Heath was alive, he was alive and safe! Those were the words Toby had been hoping to hear for what felt like forever now and at last they had been uttered. He had been talking to his mother during their monthly 'checking up' phone call when she had mentioned it, it had been casual and just a random and inane comment about his 'friend' Heath and how he had been brought home a little while ago but she had forgotten to mention it. The man had tried to be casual as he asked her about where the other man was living now and how he had looked - make it seem like a normal conversation about a friend he hadn't seen in a while instead of a conversation that made his heart race in his ears and his stomach clench in excitement. He had always shared everything with his mother except for that little thing, the fact that he was head over heels about Heathcliff Whitfield just in case she might accidentally tell someone and that was something he didn't want idly getting back to him. It wasn't that he didn't want the man to know; the fact that he had packed every one of his meager possessions and hopped in his car to head home showed that he intended for him to and before he knew it he was pulling into his parents' driveway to 'visit' them and utilize their shower.
Now he sat on his childhood bed, hair still wet from his difficult shower - his parents didn't have a shower bar or a shower seat and his had been rentals - trying to decide what the perfect outfit for their reunion would be; should he dress up? Should he dress casually? Part way in between? He didn't know what would be best but finally decided on in between, a nice button up and some dress pants. The pain in his stomach was nervousness and he had no idea what he was going to say to Heath except that this time would be the time he told the other man about his feelings for him. His bad leg was aching but he wasn't about to let the damn thing stop him from doing this. He quickly gave his hair a vicious rub with the towel before calling it done and hurrying out of the house to go visit his 'friend'.
Toby was glad when someone was coming out of the apartment building and held the door for him to hobble his way in. He headed for the elevator and waited impatiently for it to get to the ground floor before he hobbled in after the doors opened and pushed the button he needed. When the doors opened again he made his way to the apartment he was looking for and took a deep gulping breath, his mouth dry and his hands shaking he knocked. What if Heath wasn't home? Or he had someone there with him? Or worse what if Toby admitted everything and the man told him he'd imagined the flirting and Heath was actually completely straight?
The door creaked open before he could think any more about it and before Heath could say anything Toby practically launched himself at the other man, pressing his lips tightly to his just like he'd been dreaming of doing for the past near decade. This was the moment he had been waiting for since the first time he saw Heath all those years ago in the principal's office, his romantic and perfect kiss.

hold me and feel my heart beat Today had been pretty slow at work, Heathcliff hated when work was slow because it allowed his mind to keep up with him all the things he was fighting not to think about. It had been a while and yet even now he still found himself having flashbacks on those days in which he had been held in that filthy small room, with every hour feeling like days and days felt like weeks and so on and so forth. He didn't wanted anything like that running freely through his mind yet there was no real way for him to stop them, his mind was free to think whatever the hell he wanted and even when from time to time he could slow it down he couldn't stop it entirely. Eyes looking around his apartment he felt a small sigh escaped his lips; in order to make this seem more like a home to the new him, he had changed a few things around, set another could away inside the closet at the foyer and than he simply shifted the couch so he could be able to look out the large window at the living room. Yes, he wasn't much for watching television, he was also not up for reading either and so he was left with staring out the window like in one of those cheesy movies where the main character stares out the window thinking about his life. Funny, that was exactly what he was doing, only there will be no charming co-star coming to end his misery at all. What a pathetic movie he was living.
The drink in his hand was a blessing to his mind, it numb it down and refreshed his soul. Was he an alcoholic if he drink every night when he got back from home? Most of the time he recalled everything that happened, but sadly that was usually just him falling asleep on the couch or the bed. He didn't care much though, he could go to work, do his thing at the kitchen and then move back to his apartment, he could function, he just haven't found a good enough reason to do more than just that. A small sigh escaped his lips at his depressing thoughts and he quickly took one swing from his drink, feeling the liquid burn down his throat and it felt familiar and unpleasant, yes, just the way he liked it. His free hand moved slowly to run across his hair, messing it up on the way, slightly tugging by the end but soon dropped his hand away. Should he just do whatever the heck he pleases? Maybe he could just go out every night looking for himself, with some luck he might find himself at one of those nights but it seemed like too much effort even to think about it, so actually doing would be excruciating if you asked him. So he was doomed to this couch; which was actually rather comfortable in his opinion. So it wasn't entirely horrible at least.
Soon he heard a noise, a very strange noise or rather, a 'that never happens' noise. The knock on the door caused his mind to snap out of his thoughts and he turned to slowly look at the wooden door that kept himself away from the person on the other side. Heath slowly stood up, guessing the polite thing to do will be to go speak to whoever was on the other side, his hand dropping the glass on the coffee table on his way to the door. No words were spoken to the person on the other side, no way to let the human on the other hand know he was heading that way. His eyes locked on it, the idea of looking through the peephole came to mind but would it really make any difference if he looked to see who was on the other side? No, he probably won't even know who it is either way so, why bother, right? That was his way of thinking and so he was sticking with that at the moment. His hand moved and he opened the door. Nothing, and he means, nothing would have been able to prepare him for what he found on the other side of the door.
There it was. Possibly the only familiar face he had seen since he got back. Now, right there standing before him just as he recalled him. Did he knew him from before the army? He couldn't recall but he did remember the time he had spend with him in the army. Tobias Collins, Toby. He felt his heart racing; was he hallucinating this? He hadn't seen the guy in, well, before that mission when everything went to hell. He hadn't said anything yet, he probably should but the emotions were too may for him to form words. Luckily for him he didn't have to form words before the other male took matters into his own hands. Suddenly he felt his lips being covered by Toby's, his body reacting before his mind for Heathcliff quickly wrapped an arm around the guys waist, the other tangling in his hair to keep Toby close as his lips worked against his. He didn't care that they were in the entrance, all he cared was about the guy who was in his arms now. His mind began to catch up, he wasn't hallucinating right? This was not a dream because it would be a very cruel one if it was. Toby, he was here, he couldn't quite wrap his mind around it yet it was happening. The boy that had slipped away from him that night before he was deployed to the mission, the boy he had searched almost all night to tell him he liked him but had not been able to find. Now here he was, at his doorstep, kissing him with pretty much all the passion one could pour into one kiss. As he pulled back from lack of oxygen he opened his eyes and stared at him "You are really here..." he whispered, unable to take his eyes off of him, his hands slightly shaking due to the pent up emotion.

There was a moment when he worried, where Toby wondered if kissing him had been the right thing to do, when Heath did nothing, but then as if this were his perfect little daydream he felt those strong arms move. One wrapped firmly around his waist to hold him close, the other threaded into the back of his hair and Toby sighed happily. It felt so good to be held tightly against the other man and they were kissing in a desperate way before Heath finally released his lips so they could both breath. "Yeah I'm here, you going to invite me in? I mean I'm assuming from that kiss that you want a little more than just one little kiss." Toby whispered to him, his arms still wrapped tightly around the other man's neck. He pressed his lips against the corner of Heath's firmly before running them across his cheek to nip on his ear gently. "Come on, lets go inside." So there might have been a little bit of seduction in his voice but if got him where he wanted to go he didn't really mind. He backed the other man into his apartment slowly, although he was moving slowly less to give him a choice and more simply because he couldn't move that quickly. His hands slid down to cup Heath's wonderful bottom to push their bodies tighter together. It was torture, sweet torture, but worth it when the were past the door and he could kick it shut with his foot behind them - it was no one's business what they were up to and he didn't really want to disturb anybody's kid, that's all he needed was the fact that he and Heath had been making out right out in a public area getting back to his mother before he had the chance to tell her about 'them'. Oh 'them' sounded so good in his head, he hoped there would be a 'them'.
"Now I've got you all alone in here." He pressed his lips against Heath's sweet lips again, pressing his tongue against the seam of them. How far would this go? Was Heath actually interested in a real relationship with him or just interested in a quick go? Toby hoped he wanted something more than just one night - although if that was all he got he'd count himself lucky since it was more than he had gotten before this. "you're amazing." Toby whispered against his lips, nipping on the lower one when he paused their walk into the apartment for a moment to give his leg a moment's break. The living room was right there, all he had to do was back the other man into there and he'd get to sit down and rest his leg; plus as a bonus they could lay down on the couch and snuggle. He forced himself to start moving forward again with his lips moving over the other man's neck furiously as if he couldn't stop - which he really couldn't - before he tripped on a small step down he hadn't seen with his bad leg, causing him to fall forward and pull the other with him to the floor. "Ouch... Let's not do that again." he muttered with a little laugh. "You okay Heath? I didn't hurt you falling on you like I did did I?" he ran his hands gently over the other man's chest before smiling down at him gently. "You know I've drempt of kissing you like that for so long, but I never thought you'd respond positively or even kiss me back!" it was like winning the lottery, no it was like winning the lottery and then finding out that all of the mystical creatures from his youth were real. "You... You do actually like me right? This isn't just some kind of weird game? Cause I've wanted to do that for so long and... Well I thought you liked me too..." He smiled down at the other man tentatively as he waited for an answer to his question. He hoped and prayed for the words he wanted to hear, he also hoped that this wasn't just another dream - he'd had dreams about being with Heath before but nothing like this, this was just... Overstimulating and far too real. Heath looked so handsome now with his hair grown out and a little sign of whiskers on his face and there was no wonder why he had been so popular with the girls (and those of the boys interested in guys of their type) at all in his mind.
"You're so handsome." he whispered as he ran his hand through the back of his head, threading his fingers through the soft hair. It made him feel good chills going up and down his spine to be having this cute little moment with Heath, like they were a couple. This would be something he would remember forever and he would cherish this memory for the rest of his life - this was his perfect moment.

hold me and feel my heart beat It felt like electricity running through him; if his heart had been beating fast before now he found himself feeling it almost going into lighspeed. It literally almost hurt to feel it beat over and over again. This man, this man standing before him, who he was currently holding close to him could not be here. Could he? How had he found out about him being here? Truth be told, Heath had not even attempted to find him, probably because of how messed up he had been when he arrived to this city. So, seeing him here, or rather, feeling him here was enough to lit up a candle in the dark night he had been living ever since his return. And God did it felt nice to kiss him, he had been wondering what it would feel like for a while before going to his last mission and now he realized what he had been missing all that time. His voice was gone, it had said it's farewell and it was not coming back anytime soon, so when Toby spoke to him again he merely made sure to move his head up and down to let him know that he was allowed inside, eyes closing again as he felt his lips so close and yet so far away from his. Another soft nod was given, his eyes slipped open while his legs began to move back one after the other, walking backwards into his apartment, trusting that he would be able to guide him to the couch, although he pretty much knew where everything was, so there was no way for him to knock anything over. Not that there was anything to actually knock over in the first place. His arm continued wrapped around his waist keeping him close, the one that had been in his hair had slowly moved to rest in the middle of his back. He couldn't take his eyes off of him, because he felt that if he suddenly looked away by the time he came to look at her again he wold not be here anymore. Like all the times he had been dreaming and came to wake up to an empty apartment with basically nothing to look forward but the promise that with time things will get better for him. His body instantly reacted to his touch by arching his back to get close to him. His mind was going on overdrive right now, along with his senses. He didn't felt like just dragging him to the bed like he had thought about doing times before in the army, no, this was deeper than just a one night stand. So much more but he had not yet figured hat much just yet; his mind only knew that it wanted him, more emotionally than physically, although he could not deny the guy was hot.
As his lips came to his again he tilted his head slowly, his hand once more moving to rest on the back of his head. There were no words to describe what he was feeling because there were too many to really pin point then here and there. One come as soon as the other one left, leaving him no time to really savor it. As they stopped all he wanted to do was keep going, but he just kept him close, and for once since he had gotten back a slight smile creeped into his lips, it was barely visible but it was still there. Just as he was about to finally say something to him he felt the ground below him disappeared and he fell down onto the hard ground, a slight groan left his lips both from feeling his already damaged head onto the floor and because Toby's full weight fell on him. Well, he quite literally left him breathless. and swept him off his feet. Not exactly in the romantic kind of way but they should could. At least before they fell he had been enjoying the warm feeling of his lips against his neck. Which had actually worked against him in the end because if he hadn't been distracted by his lips he would have been able to catch up.
"Let's not.." he muttered as he looked up at him. Even now with the man on top of him he still felt like it was some sort of dream. But it wasn't and it made his heart ache with happiness's. "I am alright" he whispered, although he merely meant it by the fall, because on the rest his head and body was a mess. Soon the boy began to talk and he smiled slightly more, the smile probably visible now. He remembered like this, talking so much. He had always looked at him like a cute, sweet type of guy. Hearing him say those words made him realize he had been wanting to kiss him for a long time as well. Probably during almost all the time they had been together at the army; sure it wasn't as long as Toby but even so it was still something. "I have liked you for I while" Heath answered while he let his hand move to run across the others male hair. "When we got captured, I couldn't help but think how happy I was that you weren't in the mission" he added, pulling him down to meet his lips again, this time in a soft way. "You are rather handsome too Toby, hot and cute" he wasn't sure if before he had been a guy of many words but now, he kept himself to a few for some reason. "And you are definitely not a game, you are much more than that"
"I can't believe you are here" He added, that thought could not leave his mind apparently, it was all he kept thinking about over and over again as his mind seemed to want to go in circles at the moment. He didn't minded, because he was happy, truly happy on the inside and he hoped it reflected on the outside as well. He hadn't gotten a reason to smile since he was rescued but this was definitely the reason he had been waiting for. It really was worth the wait. NOTES: LOVE THEM!. TAGGED: TOBY/MISHIE . Toby beamed as Heath said more things he wanted to hear, it wouldn't have been as nice as 'I've loved you since we first met' but it was far better than the alternate. "I wish you hadn't had to go through that." He whispered to him, giving him a sad pout and a little nip on his lower lip. "But it's over now and I've got you, hope you know I'm never letting go." And it was true that he never planned to let the other guy go now that he finally had him. He returned the gentle kiss with his own soft touch of lips. Heath thought he was cute! How amazing was it to hear those words from his lips?
Toby snuggled him gently, running his lips across Heaths chin with little nibbly kisses. "Have you had dinner yet? Cause I haven't and I was thinking of maybe a romantic little dinner I could cook for you..." He offered with a grin, hoping he hadn't eaten yet. Heath may be a cook but Toby had lived with a chef friend in Miami and had learned a few tricks on how to make an amazing meal. "And maybe after dinner we could snuggle and... Watch a movie together?" He hoped that maybe they would fall asleep while watching it and then he wouldn't have to leave tonight. It wasn't how he imagined his first night with Heath but once again it was better than nothing. Did Heath like Italian? Toby thought he remembered Heath telling him something about having liked it years ago, personally Toby loved it.
He grinned to himself and kissed Heath's adorable nose. "Do you have any wine? I'd love for us to have a glass with dinner." He asked before giving him a little smile, wine would be absolutely with dinner and he hoped there would be some - they could make due with orange juice if they had to but he would much prefer wine.
Once again he pressed his lips against Heath's happily, given the chance to kiss him whenever he wanted now he was so very excited to take up the ability. The younger man grinned to himself, "so... Are we going to stay on the floor here? Cause if so we need to shift a bit." his leg was aching terribly from the way that they were laying and he couldn't take it much longer. It bothered him that his terrible leg was causing this wonderful little moment to be wrecked. He wouldn't let Heath know how painful his leg was just in case the man took pity on him for it or possibly decided not to be with him just in case of the problems it caused him. Sometimes he hated the man that had shot the bullet that had caused this, it had been friendly fire and accidental - the shooter one of the newbies who barely knew how to use the gun they had given him - but he couldn't help but be glad for it at other times. After coming back he had learned so many new things and had made so many new friends because of the injury that had taken nearly everything from him at first. He shifted his leg gently with a wince that he tried to hide but wasn't sure that he covered well enough, obviously that shower had taken more out of him than he had thought not to mention the fall they had just taken. Sure he could take a few of the pain pills they had given him for the pain - which sat in his bag - but they made him feel blurry and confused and too high to function which he absolutely hated, easier to just try to deal with the pain than to be barely able to function.
Toby leaned his face against Heath's, his ear pressed practically against Toby's lips, and shut his eyes with a sigh. The pain was lesser when he could concentrate on the warmth of the other's body. As long as he didn't move or breath it didn't hurt too badly like this. Finally he forced his way out of Heaths wonderful grip and stood up with the help of the wall before moving over to sit on the couch. "Come sit with me and we can talk about dinner."

hold me and feel my heart beat It really did felt like some sort of dream in his mind, this seemed like too good to be true after everything he had been through in the last couple of months, however he was not going to think about it much because why question when something was going good? It could easily mean that something worse was about to happen but Heath already had too much bad in his life to even want to think about the worst case scenario so he was making sure to enjoy this instead. He had the guy he liked in his arms, sure not the best position as they were currently on the ground but even so he was extremely happy at the moment. Happy; that was an odd sensation to feel to be honest, because happiness had slipped away from him on countless occasions in a very short period of time. But now it seemed to be back in the best way possible and he was not going to care much about it. His eyes looked at he male and he smiled brightly at it. Smiling felt awkward as well, but like before he was going to embrace it instead of worry much on the subject. It amazed him how cheerful Toby actually was and he had sort of forgotten that to be honest. He was like a slight glimpse of light in the darkness that had been his life so far, a guiding light if you will and he was willing to follow him for as long as he could. "I haven't had dinner yet" he mentioned, very rarely did he actually moved to cook anything because he was done with cooking from the moment he moved out of the restaurant and got into this house. But he appreciated the fact that he was willing to cook. "I would like that" he wasn't sure about the movie but he could always drink something while they watched it and pretend that he was paying attention if the movie was not of his liking.
"You will always find some alcohol inside this house" Heathcliff admitted, maybe it was not the best thing to admit if one thought about it but he didn't mind one but because it was the truth and it had never been a secret that he liked to drink. Sure that habit had increased now but he didn't mind that much, it was all in control in his mind and that was what was keeping him like this. Even if he wasn't fine, alcohol seemed to help him in the worst days and that was all he needed at the moment. A small sigh escaped his lips while he moved to brush his hand up Toby' back and tangle in his hair. He was real, it still amazed him that he was real and here. But after hearing what he said how could he not be here? Happiness, it really was a weird sensation but one he welcomed nonetheless. It was perfect in his opinion, absolutely perfect in every sense of the word.
Another thing Heathcliff didn't mind were the random kisses, they were perfect and each of them was better than the one before. God he had wondered how this would feel like since that night before the mission, and once he was captured he didn't thought he would ever get the chance to know what it felt like. In fact, he didn't thought it would happen even after he was rescued. It was definitely a good thing though. Heath looked at him with a curious look, maybe even worried as he noticed the wince but before he could actually ask anything at all. All he wanted was to know what was going on with him but at the same time he couldn't bring himself to ask the question as he was holding him. As Toby pushed himself up from him and then moved to walk to the couch while keeping his balance with the wall. Why was he doing that? it puzzled him and his body shifted to the side in order to look at him better. There he was, sitting in his couch, it amazed him and he couldn't keep his eyes off of him. However the way he had moved made him wonder if things were fine with him. Heath stood up, not thinking twice abut it before going to sit next to him, instantly wrapping an arm around him to pull him close, his lips pressing to the side of his head. "Is something wrong? Does anything hurt?" he asked him as he continued to set several small kisses to his cheek then his jaw. They could talk about dinner later. Heath actually ended up pulling him up so Toby was on his lap, his arms firmly around Toby's waist so he could keep him close and kiss his neck. It wasn't meant to lead to anything else, it was just a way to demonstrate his affection to him. Just soft, innocent butterfly kisses here and there along his neck.
