How exciting! She was finally growing up! She had to admit, it was a little bizarre to be living by herself. It had only been two weeks but she was starting to miss her crazy mother and her home cooked food. Her parents had originally wanted to drive from Ocean City to Boston but upon realising it would be at least seven and a half hours, they had insisted on flying with her and seeing her new dorm. Thankfully, Kate travelled light. She had her clothes, her duvet, her teddy bear, her camera and assorted other junk but it was only three suitcases full.
Upon saying goodbye, her mother had burst into tears. Confused, Kate hugged her back but said that she'd be home for Christmas which wasn't too long away and that she'd called and email and Skype if she wanted to. Her dad had teared up too, giving her a bone crushing hug after they'd gone to a local restaurant for a goodbye dinner. She had to admit, she missed the beach. Boston was gorgeous. When they flew down to visit her campus before she started, she'd fallen in love with it. The skyline was gorgeous, there were parks and lakes and shopping and the buildings were beautiful. She was sure Logeun would love them.
Speaking of Logeun, she hadn't seen him in over a fortnight now. Before she'd left for Boston, he invited her over to a barbecue at his house with his parents. Everything was going fairly well until they chatted about their future colleges. His mum had been nitpicking at her for months. Yeah she knew she didn't deserve Logeun and that she wasn't good enough for him but there was no need to shove it in her face.
Rick had asked her where she was going and she said Boston University which, coincidentally was a twenty minute walk from MIT. His had congratulated her, pulled her into a hug and they spoke about how she was going to enrol in a creative writing course that was the third best in the country. His mother, however, ate her chicken wearing a rather terse expression. She went on to accuse Kate of going to school near her son and that she would distract him from her studies when in actual fact, she hadn't known Logeun was attending MIT until after she'd accepted the offer from Boston. She'd also said that there were other schools better suited to her needs, hinting that she was rather dim.
Deciding enough was enough, Kate stood up and threw her napkin down on the table. She wasn't an angry person but really, it wasn't fair to be treated like that. She'd proceeded to tell his mother that she was going to Boston because it was a good school, her father's university and she'd earned that place because she deserved it; she'd worked hard, put in the effort and she was going to reap the rewards. Kate then told her that she loved Logeun. Dearly. And there was fuck all she could do about it and that she wasn't going anywhere. Of course then, she'd made her dramatic exit, even when Logeun followed her into the hall and grabbed her arms. She then drove home, cried all the way, cried some more.
But that was then and this was now. College was different. She shared with two other girls, Cara and Marie and her small dorm room was now kitted out with bright pillows and throws, gossamer curtains and scented candles. She'd been to a few parties and so far, three boys had already asked her out. They were cute, older boys who played sports but she had a boyfriend and she'd told them straight away. She'd been too busy to take the walk across the bridge and see Logeun. She'd had to decorate, make new friends, start her new job, enrol and sign up for classes. But Logeun, bless him, had called her and told her to meet him today. No buts. No excuses.
Kate was bundled up in a thick camel coloured pea coat, her long legs in jeans and flat, knee-high boots as well as a rainbow knitted hat and scarf. She was late, as always and she broke into a gentle jog, dodging traffic. She'd missed him terribly and she'd taken to sleeping in his old T shirt. Honestly? Kate thought he might break up with her over the fight with his mother. Neither woman had caved and apologised but she feel guilty? Nuh-uh. No way. She wasn't sure if Logeun was mad at her and she'd feel it was justified if it was. But then she saw him. Standing alone on the bridge, all tall and handsome and she promptly ran at him.
"Logeun!" She called with a grin, her blonde curls flowing in the wind as she didn't slow down and collided with his body, her arms going around his neck and nearly knocking him on his back. She caught him in a vice-like grip, holding tightly and squeezing, closing her eyes. "God I missed you," she said, turning her head to press it against the side of his neck, nuzzling him. Letting him go, she clapped her hands onto his chest as she grinned, her green eyes sparkling and her smile dazzling. Boston suited him. "Hi." [classy=head] we dreamt in heist [STYLE=float:left; width:379px; background-color:#F4F4F4; opacity:0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=70); height:150px; overflow:auto; font-size:10px; font-family:arial; color:#7A7A7A; text-align:justify; padding: 8px]logeun could help but wonder how he would do on his own. the idea of him alone was a bit of a dream now, alone from his parents that is, he'd never leave kate to be alone. was he insane if he would think he would? college life would be different for him than most, probably half of his friends would be at frat parties getting laid and having all that fun. and he'd be in his dorm, studying for that next test.
the goodbyes he said were to his mom and pop of course. both of them teary eyed, especially his father who was too proud of him. his mother of course was iffy of him going to college nearby kate, but he didn't care what his mother thought, he was old enough to be alone and have his own decisions, if she didn't like them, she would have to deal with it. his grandma and pa were also there, happy to see their little grandson all grown up and pursuing the dream.
when he flew over, he fell in love with the city almost instantly. the nostalgia that it brought to him, the general warmth of the city even in the cold climate just made him a happy little boyscout. but he wasn't little, nor was he a boyscout no more, he was a man. and now that he was a man, he could do anything. not quoting spongebob on that quote from this movie, he truly was grown up. and he really did feel like he was on top of the world now.
the whole situation with kate getting into a verbal fight with his mother was a bit scary, him and his father just stared at the two not knowing what to say, but logeun on the inside supported kate, it wasn't his mothers decision on who he would date, that was in middle school, he was on his own now, whether she liked it or not. he still liked his kate, and would not dare leave her at a time like this, nor would he ever leave her now.
and himself being all proper and ready to see his kate for the night and day he hasn't seen her, it would be rewarding. and after awhile of being alone at his boring single dorm, he called kate and slightly forced her to meet him at the bridge connecting the two sides of boston together. and with him doing this, he was bound to see her, not giving her any time to make up something to excuse her.
and as he walked on the bridge, slightly early, he could only look out to the river, sighing as the breeze brought cool air into his lungs, fresh and new. he liked that about boston, maryland's are was all clogged and all the same. but the windy boston always brought him a surprise daily. whether it be pizza vendors, amazing bagels, toy rocket launches, even some of the small shops were just amazing. what was he thinking, shut up and focus.
but he barely had any time to do so, as kate called out and ran to him. before he could prepare himself, she had tackled him and brought him down, the only gal able to do that to him. or atleast the only one who tried. and when she spoke, he answered, smiling back "hello." as he laid on the bridge, her on top of him he also added "i missed you alot more." he laughed and looked into her eyes, out of breath and staring into the green orbs.

Kate had to admit, she was a little nervous about meeting him. They hadn't really spent a decent amount of time together and these two weeks had felt like two years. Logeun was a proper, old fashioned gentleman and when he'd asked to (told her to) meet him, she'd said yes but she felt awkward. He'd been raised properly, what if he wanted to see her so he could break up with her in person? A jolt of panic hit her like a lightning strike. He wouldn't break up with her via text, phone call or email, he was far too decent for that.
She'd been close to caving and sending his mother flowers until her Dad noticed. You're a tiger, Katie, Andy had said, grabbing her by the shoulders and forcing her to look at him. She did. She's wrong, you're right. She had no right to talk to you like that so you hold your ground, kiddo.
Her Dad was right. Her Dad was always right.
That in mind, she'd decided that she wasn't going to shy away from her boyfriend; he meant the world to her. She'd apologise to him. Apologise for upsetting his mother, apologise for ruining the atmosphere, apologise for ruining the dinner, apologise if she got him into trouble but she wasn't going to apologise for her words. Yeah sure, it was too early to think about marriage and babies but what if that happened? Mrs. Copperman would just have to deal. Simple. No more thought would be given to that from this day forward.
Logeun Copperman had her heart, truly and irrevocably. If he wanted to break it, he could, she didn't want it back. Kate hadn't realised she'd hit him with such force until his strong body fell backwards and hers lurched forward in return. "Eeee!" The blonde squealed, her eyes wide as she pitched forward and landed with a loud bump, the landing jostling her bones as she moved to sit up, only to her seated on his crotch. Whoopsie. Not an all-together unusual position, they'd done that a few weeks ago.
"I am so sorry!" Kate gushed with a gasp, a few people wandered by, casting the pair of teenagers strange looks. "Are you okay?!" She exclaimed, her small hands checking over his face and then his chest before she let out a snort of loud, genuine laughter. Sitting back a little, she clapped a hand over her eyes with a groan. "Not…quite the entrance I was hoping to give," she said with a chuckle. "I was actually hoping to be all sexy and sophisticated, not run you over like a steam roller." As he looked at her, her breath caught in her chest. He was absolutely beautiful. Maybe absence did make the heart grow fonder. Funny that.
Swiftly, she grinned, her big green eyes sparkling in the cold Boston air. Her cheeks were pink, partly because of the coldness but mostly because she was laying on top of him. Still! Might as well make the most of a bad situation. With that, she leant down and kissed him, the ends of her hair softly tickling his face. Her hands ran down his chest, over his coat and she forced herself to stop. She'd get arrested if she went any further.
Swiftly, Kate got off him and stood, leaning down to grab Logeun's hands and pull him to his feet. Once he was up, she took the opportunity to give him a proper, decent hug. Her arms went around his chest, squeezing him tight as she rested her cheek on his chest as her eyes closed in contentment. The wind blew, causing a few leaves to fall as they were blown along the bridge, hitting her boots. "Mmm," she said, snuggling up and into his chest. Two weeks. Fourteen days. 336 hours. Way too long. "Now you're just being silly," she said as she pulled back and offered him a big grin, wrinkling the tip of her nose gently.
"I'm sorry," she blurted out, unable to help it. "About dinner," she further explained. "I just…" trailing off, she looked down at her shoes guiltily. "I'm sorry. And I'm sorry for not seeing you sooner," she said as she sketched a little smile. Hopefully Logeun would be able to see how sorry she was, her face showed all of her emotions so easily. "But how was your first day?" She asked brightly. "Make some new friends?" Focusing on top of his head, she laughed. A leaf had fallen and gotten stuck in his hair and she gently plucked it out, admiring the red colour of the leaf before slipping it into her coat pocket. "A souvenir," she explained. "Of the first day of the rest of our lives."
