Hey guys. I’m doing an intro thread because apparently it’s what all the cool kids do.
and I’m a cool kid.So… about me… hm.
Well, I'm 21 years old.I go to Williams Collage in Massachusetts. We’re surrounded by the purple mountains and it’s really beautiful around there. Our mascot is the Eph, who is a purple cow. Yup, we’re cool. I’m studying sociology which is pretty boss, if you like convoluted readings and hours of analyzing why people do what they do. My goal one day is to open my own school, either a charter school or a private one.
Other future goals:
-marry a millionaire who will fund my school. (except not really)
-have at least five kids (really)
-live somewhere fantastic, probably on the east coast if I can swing that.
-have a small but absolutely beautiful wedding with macaroons and lace and vintagey things
-finish a novel
-own a jeep
I like old names. My kids are probably going to hate me. Anyway, I’ve been writing online (both fanfiction and RPG) since I was 12. I’ve been roleplaying live since I was ten, but I stopped like… two years ago. I’ve mostly always been on real life high school sites. I had my own HP site for a few months but it didn’t work out. I refuse to be on HP sites that aren’t perfect so I don’t do them much hahahaha. I absolutely adore being on NRFM… it’s the best. Ugh I could talk about how much I love this site forever, but you all know that already so I’ll move on.
Let’s see what else… I’m from Chicago, born and raised. My parents are special. My dad is super over protective. He used to be a drug addict and partier, but then he wanted me to have a good future so he got his act together when I was like 13 and so I moved in with him. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am today and I’ll always be grateful to him for that. On the other hand, he is very over protective. He literally has nightmares about me not doing well enough and they scare him so much that he has to take medicine to block them out and get some sleep. He’s been depressed for a long time and I worry about him a lot. That’s why I’m not on as much when I go home, because I try to spend some quality time with him and ease his fears. As for my mom… growing up I had to take care of her a lot. She’s a pretty severe alcoholic and has been in and out of rehab since I was a little girl. She also started doing hard drugs when I moved in with my dad because she really couldn’t handle not being around. She'd been sober for the past year but has been relapsing lately and is going into rehab, which is pretty emotional and stressful for me... My mom is the most loving, caring person and we have a lot in common personality wise. We always need other people in our lives and we give and give and give. I love both of my parents so much and they mean the world to me.
So that explains a lot of why I don’t make my characters have a whole lot of problems hahaha. Most of my characters don’t have super dramatic pasts or hard lives, because I RP to have an escape from all that.
Moving on. So, I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year and four months. I love him like you would not believe. We have totally different ways of looking at the world, which is fun. He is so sweet to me, and we really work to keep our relationship fun and exciting. This summer I'm living with him in Seattle which is lovely and fun. Mostly we sit around in our little apartment doing nothing, but it works for us.
Okay enough of the heavy stuff!
I love… fashion. If I wasn’t so interested in Education I definitely would have gone into the fashion industry—probably marketing or merchandising or something. I love everything old-fashioned or vintage. I worked at Urban Outfitters two summers ago and it was heaven. Last summer I worked at a daycare with the 10-14 month olds and leaving literally broke my heart. I still miss those babies every day. I read Harry Potter like some people read the bible. Regularly.
