life
Andria is not originally from Maryland. She was born to a happy family in a suburb in upstate New York, and lived there until she was 14. The Stone family started out as a picture perfect family: white picket fence, happy father and mother, and a beautiful little girl. Andria was very beautiful, and she was a bubbly and happy child, until her mother deteriorated. Her mother, Emma, was diagnosed with schizophrenia when Andria was 3 years old, and for a year they were able to manage it. But eventually Emma wasn’t able to live, and she killed herself. It was a gruesome event that Andria doesn’t remember a lot of.
However, it affected her life greatly. All of her father's anger turned toward his daughter after the initial mourning period ending. Andria grew up under the scrutinous eye of her father. He was always there, watching her, telling her to do things better. "Get better grades." "Clean your room until it's spotless." "How much have you eaten today?" His comments on her appetite and weight were specifically stinging, but she still developed her optimism for it. She always loved her father; he was, after all, the only thing she had left to love. The more she tried to see good in him, the more his comments hurt. As she entered her young preteens, Andria's eating habits became more and more sparratic. Sometimes, she'd eat a piece of fruit for the whole day. Sometimes she wouldn't eat or drink anything but ice and water. Eventually, her habits became permanent. She was anorexic by the age of 13.
Her father had kept his job through it all, even piling on the work to keep himself away from the shadow of his wife, Andria. She was a latchkey kid, getting home hours before her dad would. One day, walking home from school, she was abducted by a serial rapist in New York state. She wasn’t his first target, but she was his last, as she was found in a couple of days, thankfully before the rapist had anytime to seriously hurt her. She was beaten and bruised, but other than that she wasn’t harmed. Her father was stricken, however, and moved the family to Maryland where his brother and only surviving family lived.
Andria and her father were still at ends with each other, although both wanted to mend their relationship. Andria never acted out against her father, and still loved him, but found it hard to be in his presence. He was like a black hole that brought everybody down. Their relationship to this day is still rifted. Andria grew up beautiful and tried not to let what happened to her hold her back, but she became a sort of nervous wreck when it came to socializing. Most people didn’t understand her eating habits, and she could hardly look at boys, especially the ones she liked. She grew into invisibility, a true wallflower.
