persona
Out-going, straight shooting, enthusiastic, excitable, Blunt, Risk taker, impatient, practical, observant, spontaneous, innovative, promiscuous, disobedient, energetic, fun-loving.
Cassie is an outgoing and straight shooting kind of girl. She is enthusiastic and excitable, living in the world of action and the now. Blunt, straight forward and a bit of a risk taker she is willing the plunge into anything and get her hands dirty. She is the kind of girl who lives for the here and now, and places very little importance on the theory behind things and just does it. She looks at the facts of a situation, decides on how to move forward does it and swiftly moves on to the next thing.
She also has an uncanny ability to read people’s attitudes and motivations. She picks up on little cues that go completely unnoticed by others, such as facial expression and people’s stance. In a one on one interaction she is normally a couple of steps ahead of the other and so uses this to get what she wants out of the situation. She sees rules and laws as guidelines of how she should behave and not mandatory. She is the kind of girl that if she decides something has to be done her “Do it and get on with it” attitude takes precedence over the rules. However she does have her own strong beliefs on what is right and what is wrong and will adamantly stick to her principles. The rules of establishments hold little value to Cassie, but her own integrity will not allow her to do anything that she deems to be wrong.
Cassie has a strong flair for drama and style. She is fast-moving, fast-talking and has an appreciation for the finer things in life. She is a story teller and often makes things up as she goes along rather than following a plan. She loves to have fun and have fun people around her. Although she can sometimes be hurtful to others without realising what it is she has done. Sometimes it may be that she is not aware or she simply doesn’t care about the effect her words have on others. This doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care it is simply that her logic and way of thinking doesn’t take into account other people’s feelings. She makes decisions based on facts and logic not people.
She is extremely impatient especially when it comes to getting things done. She also has a lack of an intuitive side. She occasionally has strong intuitions that are sometimes very lucid and positive but they are often way off-base. She tends not to trust her instincts and is suspicious of other peoples intuition as well.
She is the kind of girl that has trouble in school, especially higher education as this is when theory is more important. She gets bored in classes where she feels she will gain no useful material to get things done. She would much rather be out in the world experiencing it firsthand. She is brilliantly intelligent but she sees school as a chore.
Because she gets bored easy Cassie is the kind of girl that needs to keep moving. This is why she is following a career in which she isn’t restricted or confined to one area. She has a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, and she tends to get very excited about things. Because of this attitude she often able to sell others on the same ideas she has and inspire them to have the same attitude. She is very action oriented and makes decisions quickly. She has a talent for getting things started but lacks the motivation to follow it through.
Cassie is practical, observant, fun-loving, a spontaneous risk taker and has an excellent ability to improvise an innovative solution to a problem. She is enthusiastic and recognizes her strengths and talents and so operates within those realms
life
Cassie was the second and last born child to Karen and Michael Dalton. Her brother Tristan was born exactly nine months before she was, and the way it played out they were in the same year at school. Up until the age of 7 Cassie lead a pretty normal life. Her mother was a nurse and her father was a fireman. They lived in a normal house on a normal street with normal neighbours in normal Manhattan. Sadly for the Dalton family on the 11th September 2001 their world came crashing down. It was only a couple of days before the family was due to celebrate Tristan’s birthday so it was for the family like the rest of America a big shock. Sadly it didn’t end there for the Dalton family. Cassie and Tristan were like every other kid their age at school. However they were all excited as that day they were due to go on a school trip to the world trade centre. They were in sight of the buildings when the first plane hit the south tower and of course like everyone else they stood and watched. Things slowly but surely started to get more and more frantic as fire engines zoomed past heading to the world trade centre. Cassie and Tristan of course got excited when they saw Daddy driving past with his crew. He waved at them putting on a smile for his kids. Luckily for the two they only saw their dad smiling that day. And little did they know that that was going to be the last time they ever saw their dad.
Regrettably that isn’t wear the Dalton family troubles ended. The class and teachers stood and watched in horror as they watched the events unfold before them, not realising they were too close to the buildings until the police started pushing them back. As the towers came down like everyone else they all ran for their lives. As they ran Cassie tripped up on some of the debris that soon caught up with them. Fearing for her life she did what she knew best. She stayed where she was curled up in a ball trying to make herself as small as possible. Her vision had blurred from the dust and she was struggling to see her hand in front of her face. There was also a pain in her eyes that her mind couldn’t understand what was making them hurt so much. It didn’t take long for a pair of arms to scoop her up and run with her to safety. Soon she started to feel the darkness pull at her consciousness. The man that was carrying her tried to keep her awake but she just couldnt do it.
She woke up a week later not being able to see a thing and as she felt around her head she realised it was because she had a bandage over her eyes. But even as she pulled it from her face, her eyes couldn’t focus. Everything was black. Cassie had lost her sight. The pain in her eyes had been tiny shards of glass. Like any other person in her situation she cried for days. And it wasn’t until she was out of hospital 4 weeks later that all hope had gone for the Dalton children. Their fathers body had been found amongst the debris of the towers. They were lucky in the sense that his body had been found. They had someone to say goodbye too, but at the same time they would rather not have had to say goodbye. It took a while for Cassie to get used to not being able to see, she had a lot of help from her brother and as they got older they became closer. Even having the same interest and friends.
At the age of 10 her mother finally decided she couldn’t cope staying in new York so they moved to California where she could get away from the memories of what had happened. The family stayed there for another 3 years. During that time Cassie and Tristan made friends with one of their neighbours little boys who was the same age as them. Like natural Jack was better friends with Tristan but the three of them were still close and they became fondly known as the three musketeers by their parents. Even though she was blind it never stopped Cassie from going out and getting stuck in. She still climbed trees and fell out of them more often than staying in them. She didn’t want it to stop her from living her life. At 13 her mother moved the family from California to Maryland where the three of them now reside. The kids stayed in touch with Jack texting and letters, the usual. It wasn’t until Cassie was 16 that Tristan and she finally found out the real reason that they had moved from California. Their mother had been having an affair with jacks dad and his mother had found out. not only that but their mother had been having an affair with him since before their father had been killed. Karen and jacks dad had been high school sweethearts. The two had stayed in touch and when he was on business trips in New York Karen would go and see him. From that point on Cassie and Tristan only put up with their mother simply because they didn’t have anywhere else to go. To them she was Karen and no longer their mother. And to this day they would both rather have nothing to do with her.
Cassie and Tristan now both go to Manchester College and Cassie is studying music. Finding a love for the guitar and piano and she is finally starting to cut her ties with Karen hoping that soon she will no longer have to rely on her.

living in russia the weather had always gone from one extreme to the next, there had never really been an in between state, and if there was it was gone in the blink of an eye. you got two seasons, summer and winter. it went from arctic conditions to the sahara desert. kenzi loved the heat though, she loved being able to layout in the sun and feel the heat beating down on her skin. she was however never able to do that when she was back home. yes she could go out in the sun, but not how she does here. it was socially unacceptable for her to go out in just a bikini and sun bathe on one of the many lawns that surrounded their stately home. with all the top aristocrats coming and going from her home, and some being potential suitors her parents didn’t approve. she was certainly thankful that her parents were still in russia.
there were times when kenzi missed home. she had spent the first eighteen years of her life there. it was her home. but she couldn’t face going back, at least not yet anyway. going home would mean that she caved before her parents, and she would never hear the end of it. they would hold it over her like a stormy black cloud just waiting for the right moment to let the first lightning bolt to go and send her world into a downward spiral. her parents were the kind of people who didn’t forget things easily and they would blackmail you for every last penny if they could. kenzi disliked her parents, they were people she tried to keep in her past and she wanted them to stay there. there were things they had done that even four years later she couldn’t forgive them.
when she was at home the water had always been her escape. she could spend hours on end just doing nothing as long as it was in the water. if you were to go looking and you couldn’t find her hidden away in her room, you would find her in her family swimming pool, and that was exactly how she was now. she had escaped her flat and her brother, heading straight for her comfort blanket. don’t get her wrong though she loved her brother, they were actually really close, but he had recently been bugging her about getting a job, and he wasn’t letting it drop. it wasn’t like she hadn’t been trying, but she had grown up not having to worry about money so she had never worked. she didn’t have any experience so nobody would hire her, andrei just didn’t seem to grasp that. she wanted to work, more than anything she wanted to work at the local marine but she couldn’t get a job because she had no experience (even though she spent most of her life swimming with the creatures and she knew them like the back of her hand) and she hadn’t finished her course at university yet.
as kenzi stood above her friend she couldn’t help but smile. he looked cute when he was asleep. so sweet and vulnerable. it was very rare you got to see anyone like that and it was something that she couldn’t help but enjoy. she arched an eyebrow as a single eye opened to look up at her. she attempted to look unimpressed, but was unsure as to whether or not it was actually working. shaking her head lightly she let out a small chuckle at parkers comment. she gave a slight shrug and let out a sigh. “that my dear friend.”she said as she lowered herself down so that she was sat on him. “is a secret i shall never tell. but i will let you know it takes a lot of practise.”
kenzi considered parker to be one of her closer friends here. she had made a few in the past four years but there weren’t that many that she could say she was close to. but with parker she could be herself. yes she was bubbly and outgoing and willing to talk to any tom, dick or harry that walked by, but she did like to have consistency in her life. and parker was just that. yes they had their moments as kenzi more often than not loved to wind him up, as it was just so easy to do. but she also liked to think that they were close, and that she could tell him stuff if the time ever arose. with a smile on her lips she arched a brow at her friend. “so what brings you to my neck of the woods?”she said as she patted his stomach like it was a drum.
