Now that high school is over, Brooke, Leighton, Chase and Ed all hate the way that Penn manipulated the girls into fighting over him. He’s baffled and doesn’t really understand what he did that was so wrong. These days he’s trying to make amends and misses all the attention—of all of them he’s the one that is the most stuck in the past. Brooke loves the attention but is always too caught up in drama with male models and society boys to pay him much attention, and it drives Chace insane. At some point he’s going to finally make some big gesture that makes her give him a chance—what it is is up to whoever takes him! These two will date eventually and be really cute and in love, but it’ll be a slow build up. I see Chace as a player who’s ready to change his ways. He’s good at lavishing gifts and sly compliments but not so much at real emotion. He sees Brooke as someone he can tame from a partying model to the perfect wife, which will be a huge source of conflict for them. He’s relieved that Leighton finally sees what a jerk Penn is and is trying to slowly work his way into her heart.
