It had just weeks after the class of 2012 had graduated, and though he should have been in that grade, his skipped classes had finally caught up with him, he had been unable to pass his last mandatory math and government classes, so he'd be repeating the grade over again in the fall, all electives except for the two he'd messed up. If it had been his choice, he'd have dropped out as soon as the ball had dropped, but his parents were not a fan of his rash decisions, after all, that was what had gotten him in the mess in the first place. His long term girlfriend had graduated and had signed up for summer internships, so she was out of state, but what did that matter, they hadn't talked since the news of flunked classes spread like wildfire through the school. She'd always pushed him to be better, for her reputation if for anything, and as a royal, the pressure was always there to be perfect. But now that she was gone, what did he really give a flying fuck who thought he was a piece of shit anyway?
He spent most of his time at the gym beating the crap out of a punching bag, he could honestly say he was a adrenaline junkie. He lived for the thrill of getting his next high, fear was the last thing on his mind, 96% of the time. He wasn't scared what would happen tomorrow and wasn't really too concerned about what happened yesterday. He had heard of the party to celebrate the 4th of July and felt a ping of anger when he realized that he had counted on his girl to always give him the scoop of when parties were coming up, now he had to hear it through the grape vine and hoped he dressed properly for it. One of the many things he actually had missed.
He were a white wife beater and swimming trunks, the crowd was typical, the royals and populars were crowded nearest the fire and everyone else was spread aimlessly all in their own little groups, stones off to the corner in the shadows of the moon, where no one could really make them out. As he stood in the sand, away from any crowds, he realized, he really didn't know why he'd come, he had no friends here anymore, but then again everyone was sporting red solo cups and that was reason enough. Just as determined as ever he walked right up to the Keg, crossing all the populars and filled his cup, who really gave a shit if they started a fight with him, he didn't care.

SHE COULD BE A JOAN OF ARC Valentina had never been big on the party scene when she had arrived to this city because she would have ended up getting way too drunk and probably would have done a list of stupid things that would cause her to just make her feel like the worst person in the entire world. It had been difficult, each time she saw an alcohol drink she wanted to reach out a hand and take it and drink it within the next two seconds. Her mind begged of her to just numb it down like she had been doing before, to go back to that state and forget all the suffering, the abuse and the pain. It had been an easy way out and now she realized about it, but it wasn't like she had much choice in the matter, there were things that should not be remembered, and she had plenty of those to want to drink an entire stand of beer in order to sleep like a log for the next days. Probably from being at the hospital, but rest is rest in her mind. No way that was happening now though, she had moved onand therefore she was putting herself to the text once more by being alone at this party where alcohol was running free, so close to her she could smell it and it send shivers down her back.
Right now she could feel the soft sand against her feet because she had decided to take off her shoes, it was the beach after all so why would she wear her shoes? A slight smile came to her lips when she caught the sight of a girl wearing some high heels; now that girl was going to regret using those at the beach, that was for sure. Valentina merely ignored the girl and every other popular kid as she walked across the people. Valentina kept a low profile, sure she was part of the people at te drama club and she was on stage when the productions came and when the role she gets is one she actually wants; but even so she was not someone who people recognized. Nor she wanted to be anyway. Someone came into bumping into her, giving Valentina a slight glare that she shook off by merely continuing her walk. There was no way for her to get into any sort of problems. This was a day of celebration, not that she remembers any time when she had celebrated this day with much enthusiasm. For some reason it just didn't seemed to play out that well but who cares. She continued to walk all the way to where she could find something to drink that didn't have much alcohol in it and when she did she stood there and looked around, grabbing a glass and starting to fill it up. She was glad she had decided to use the outfit she had on, because it seemed to fit the mood one way or the other; and she also had her swimsuit on underneath in case she decided to go for a swim.
The girl was currently simply standing there, sipping from her drink while she looked around the place, justs seeing all the people enjoy the moment and have fun. She wondered how different it would have been if she had been in any of their little groups, she knew she could fit in with the clothing, she could pull off the look of the populars and she knew it but personality wise, she would fall miserably. Her mind was too busy thinking about the people around her that she didn't noticed the male that had stood up next to her to fill his own red cup. It was probably best for that to happen, although she couldn't figure out why. It was then that some other guy came on her other side and she looked in that direction. Her feet moving to the other side for the new one kept moving closer to her. "Dude, personal space" she said to the guy before seeing him turn to look at her, he just scowled -which in her mind, it looked kind of gay- and pushed pass her, a bit too harsh. Victoria dropped her cup, some of the liquid falling to her leg and her shoulder hitting the guy that had been on her other side. "Typical idiot" she said while she turned "Sorry about that" she had to apologize to the guy beside her, for she did noticed she hit him.It was then that her eyes met his face; an almost apologetical look on her face for the somewhat hard hit she had give him. It hadn't been the first time the tall, toned blond boy had been smacked around at a party, but it had certainly hadn't come from a place he'd expected it to, turning to see a small sized girl with a face full of worry, the sorries that slipped her peach colored lips, couldn't have been more sweet, "It's not a problem." he said, baring his teeth, a beautifully aligned set, God given. "It's no big deal." he said, whipping the liquid from his bare chest, and giving his shorts a little graze as he removed the contents from his hand. "Would you like more?" he asked, turning to look in the direction of the guy that had left the little lady beerless and embarrassed.
He was sure that she thought he intended to refill her a beer, and get the ball running after throwing in a few jokes about how much of a d-bag the guy had been, but that clearly wasn't what was on his mind. He held up a single finger, and darted off towards the smaller guy that had just bumped into the girl. "Excuse me." he said to the guy, of course stunned, the guy turned and looked at Thayer, a cocky smile leaving his face, everyone knew Thayer and his reputation for both being a royal and also being overly brutal when it came to interactions that got heated, no one was as brave as they pretended to be unless your name was Thayer Donovan. A single overly bushed brown eyebrow lifted, just as Thayer spoke in a very calm collected voice, "You dumped her beer and you owe her another one." he declared.
Instead of laughing it off, or even cussing the blond out, the guy simply headed towards the keg, leaving his lady behind, wide eyed. Now that Thayer wasn't a popular, he was down right scary to half the town, what was stopping him from beating everyone up now that Lizzie was gone? Just as the beer was filled up, foam free, luckily for him, the guy uttered an apology to the girl and walked away, leaving Thayer arms crossed with a proud smile spread across his face, enjoying the moment for a moment longer than he should, returning to her side, beer still in hand, untouched, "I know I've seen you before, but I can't place your name," he said guiltily, "It was always Liz's job to remind me who was who," he admitted, he clearly had a terrible memory and had no trouble admitting it to a girl he'd just officially met. "Names Thayer Donovan, if you don't know." he said in a matter of fact way, though he was almost positive that whether she'd met him before, his reputation was always a good way to know the name.

SHE COULD BE A JOAN OF ARC It's not exactly like Valentina likes the atmosphere that settled in this type of events. It was almost like moving the entire campus to the beach. You saw the royals on one side, the populars at another, and so on. Instead of being a place for everyone to talk to everyone, it turned into another place for everyone to divide. Valentina had always liked to know different types of people; so she hated when people instantly directed her towards the ones who were on the drama club. When the blond male finally spoke she locked her green eyes with his. Oh, so there was someone with brain within the mass of people that was here. To the question she glanced down at her empty cup. "Sure" she whispered.
Yes, he was right. Valentina was very much expecting what would be a normal reaction, to have the person pour her another glass, since he was here and the question had been asked but as he signaled her to wait -or she understood it as such- her eyebrow rose a bit as she saw him reach the man from before. She stood up straight, a little afraid that there was going to be any sort of confrontation or something of the sort. It would never stop amazing her how someones entire attitude could change when they face someone more demanding. It was a perfect display of authority, of power if you will and she watched the scene unfold before her with critic eyes. Valentina bit down her lower lip, a nervous tick she had picked up throughout the years, just like she tended to bite her inner cheek, or lick her lips. It was always with her mouth now that she thought about it.
Interesting was not enough to cover it, or perhaps it was the wrong word. Amusing might do more justice to the entire thing. With surprise written all over her face, Valentina saw the guy simply march back to where she was. She had to hold back a smile when the guy apologized and she merely took the cup before watching him leave. Most be nice to have that sort of power over someone when is not being used to make others feel bad. With a small smile she eyed him, as he came back, stealing the words she had been thinking about as he mentioned knowing her but being unable to put a name to the face. "Don't worry, I couldn't remember your name either so I guess we are on the same page" she assured him with a nod of her head. "I'm Valentina....Levesque" she said with a nod and small pause between her name for she had been unsure as to include the Kim or not, deciding to leave it out for some reason. "Nice to officially met you Thayer" she added with a slightly smile. By now the other male had left her mind, he didn't deserved another thought from her. "Also, thanks for the refill" she added with a slight shake of her head. WORDS TAGGED THAYER NOTES Hope that was goodTEMPLATE BY WE WERE INFINITE ! OF CAUTIO 2.0

The blond was 6'2" and about 180 pounds worth of muscle and power, only an idiot would tell him off. Especially since the last time someone did he'd thrown them against the locker and dented the steel door to the point where it took them ripping the door off completely for the owner of it to get her books out. Not everything was as black and white to him, he'd done what he had for a reason. The guy had been arguing with a smaller girl, a freshmen by the look of her, his finger had been in her face, and yelling, spite flying everywhere, the hopeless girl was even crying, face red with tears. Without knowing either of them, Thayer, a protector of women, had jumped in and shoved the guy against the locker, by the shoulders of his shirt, "You don't talk to women like that," he'd warned, and it had been a lesson his father had always been very solid on, he was to protect his sister, with his life, because that is what a man did.
In the end, Thayer had gotten a weeks detention, and he'd carried out his punishment without question, dragging the guy he'd attacked him with him. They'd had plenty of time to settle their differences in detention, ever since them, Thayer was always the guy that people feared for what he might do. No one was ever that sure about how he'd react to a situation. "Well, then," he said a shy smile threatening to spread at the corners of his thin lips, "Guess I don't feel that bad then." he said with a soft laugh. Valentina Levesque hadn't sounded like a familiar name, but then again, his memory was absolutely crap, he could barely remember what he'd ate for breakfast, or even if he'd woken up early enough to eat any. "No problem." he said and it truly hadn't been. To him, the respect of woman had ran deep in him.
He'd dated a girl named Lizzie four almost three years when they'd recently broken up after graduation, they weren't going in the same places anymore, and he couldn't honestly say he was heart broken. He'd been secretly seeing someone else on the side, a fact that Lizzie knew far too well, but in the populars, reputation was worth so much more than feelings. The start of their relationship had been real, but as time grew on, it fell apart, and yet, everyone expected them to stay together and be happy, so they pretended, forced it. His secret relationship was probably the only thing that had kept him going, and he thought of her all the time, yet, here he stood without her on his arms because now he was no longer a popular and she was. How life worked. "What grade are you?" he asked making small talk, as he waited for his response from his mystery girl, he'd texted her just before he'd been hit.

SHE COULD BE A JOAN OF ARC Valentina was obviously not big on the party scene mostly because of her beloved past; she knew one drink could lead her back her old ways bu there's really no way for her to come here and not drink. It was merely one little drink, and she had decided to try and practice some self control by just drinking one ow possibly to glasses before letting it go. She had promised that to herself, and even when in the past that had not been particularly something she would actually do and keep it up she decided to try and make it happen today. The entire place was set to let you fall into oblivion and lose yourself in the atmosphere that was relaxed and without a care in the world. Sure, everyone seemed to be in their own little groups, divided and not mixing at all unless they were close to the same rank. She, for once, had never truly cared about the label as long as she found that person's personality to be entertaining instead of insulting. The entire way of behaving of the royals made her feel lazy; so many things to keep up, so many little dirty secrets they had to keep up because if they came out people would stop looking at them as such. It sicken her, or, maybe not sicken her but it caused her to feel tired to even think about it. A small sigh escaped her lips, eyes looking down at the floor for a few seconds while she shifted her weight from one leg to the other. Nothing was making her feel uncomfortable as of yet, so she saw no trouble on sticking around for a few more minutes if he felt like keeping up a soft and calm conversation that would probably not lead to them being good friends or even have a deep meaning. This casual conversations were very common in her life, but she seem to actually like it. It was easier, simpler, more enjoyable than having to always have some sort of depth in their words. Sometimes Valentina felt that the rest of the world had a sudden needy need to dump their troubles on the rest of the population. To be the center of attention, to always have the focus on them but she was fine with the sidelines most of the time. She did tended to have fun most of the time of course, in her own little way.
Seeing the tall guy smile and speak caused her eyes to snap back up; seeing he muscular guy once more yet her eyes never drifted to glance over his well shaped body. No, they merely skipped what other girls might have come to admire, focusing on his face for the words were coming from his mouth, not from his abdomen or arms. Her eyes did locked with his though, she had learned to look people in the eye when speaking, because it made her feel like she was actually speaking to that person. When she had been with her mother, all the drugs an d alcohol from the day caused her eyes to drift, her mind to be muffled and her spirit to be broken down. Now, as a way to compensate for all of that, she wanted to always be sure to listen to whatever someone was telling her, whether it is s friend or foe, that person deserves the attention that you could provide even if he is sending you to hell. It wasn't something he ought to feel bad about even if she had managed to remember who he was. A small smile came to her lips; mostly because so far things were going good. A small incident that actually turned out to be rather funny in the end. So there were no real problems now. Valentina didn't felt like it would be a problem, mostly because he had done it without her actually asking him to go make the guy give her a refill. Some people were just not worth the trouble, and in her mind, that guy from before fell perfectly under such category. However, she was not one to tell others how to act, or want them to act the same way she does; because she knew how terrible it was to have someone want to do that to you.
The question was just what made her want to keep talking; it was still very light and simple. "Um, I'm a senior" she said after a few seconds. The girl used her thumb over the edge of the red cup, feeling the smoothness of the plastic glass. A small sigh escaped her lips before she decided the polite thing to do was to ask him the same thing. "What about you?" most people would know who he was, most people would know every detail behind his story and why he was still here. Not Valentina, she was in no way, shape or form, interested on others personal life unless it involves her; privacy is a very important thing in her mind. It was something she had longed to experience a while back and now she was finally experiencing because she was not someone people were interested in. Sure she was in the drama club, sure she had been on stage several times playing a somewhat important role, but she had never truly been the lead, maybe the co-star but that was as far as she would go. On the rare occasions she was the one who would step up to the plate if the leading female didn't show up, but that never seemed to happen. When she noticed someone wanted to actually move forward and get a drink she instantly moved, stepping aside but actually managing to stay withing the right radio to still be able to speak to Thayer, in fact, it worked better because now she wasn't blocking the drinks and she could speak to him in a simpler way. The young dirty blond girl used her free hand to grab a lock of her hair and twirl it around her fingers, not a habit she tended to do but it was mostly what happened from time to time. To keep herself busy, she took a quick and small sip from her drink.
